Is the D really that big of an issue?

    The d is not terrible.
We are starting a rookie QB.

No question that our secondary blows chunks. Seems to me ever since we locked up whiffin our secondary has gone down, not that one has everything to do with the other, persay. Just looking at timeline. Perhaps thinking we had a great safety in whiffin has kept us from seriously shopping for a stud at safety. ( ya ya, I saw the two good hits delivered by whiff on Sunday, but I still contend he was thrown into the other player by other on our D) Our LBs need some work but are serviceable.

What should be Metts best target, Hunter, is a failure. Mett needs more help on O, but remember, no one expected superbowl rings when mett was announced. He will do well with more help. Our receivers have caught from three different qbs in what four weeks time? Can't be easy, but ya ya, they're pros. Watch for us to steadily improve especially at QB with Mett

All I'm saying is that the sky is not falling as frustrating as it is during games.

    First round stud defender
2nd round best Wide Out available

Or vise versa will make a huge difference next year.

Please no more Wrs until our OL is fixed. A good running game and more time to throw will fix a lot more of the WR issues than a new WR will

Fair enough. But I stick with the notion that Hunter is,has, will continue to fail.

Our number one need, depending on how the qb situation looks, is a playmaker on offense. Somebody who scares a defense at all.

I think we go amari Cooper.

If the offense was even half-way decent, the defense would be average, IMO. But there are too many weaknesses on defense right now to be much better than that.

CB, NT, LB and SS are just the most glaring need.

Is it just me or does the older team just look a lot more imposing?

If the offense could get going the defense wouldnt wear out and would play better throughout the game.

3 and outs are what is killing this team. I didn't get to see the game Sunday, but when I turned it over they got the first first down since the first quarter...this was several minutes into the fourth quarter...

Yes, the defense could be better, but the offense HAS to move the ball and score points. This is the NFL...you can't expect your D to hold teams to 3 points a game while your O scores 7 a game.

I know that the offense needs a lot of improvement, but the defense is not good. Look at the amount of rushing yards and deep passes we have given up this year. Look at the scores at the end of the games. We are being blown out. I know that the O leaving the D on the field for so many snaps is rough on the defense. However, if they force 3 & outs they will get the ball back to the offense. Now granted we most likely go 3 & out and they are back on the field.

The biggest issue on D for me is a lack of big plays. Sacks, FFs, & INTs. If we had that lock down corner to get those picks, or that OLB sack machine it changes the game. How many times has JJ Watt changed the momentum of the game for the Texans this year? We need that special player on D that can change the game.

I also agree that we need a play maker on offense. We seem to shoot ourselves in the foot every time we start to make some ground on offense.

No matter how you look at it this team needs a play maker on both sides of the ball.

Actually the d has been one of the nfls best at not giving up big plays
