I finished the Court of Owls storyline @DeeT04 . Really liked it. Did not see that twist coming even though I probably should have in retrospect lol.

 

Again.. Ultimate Fantastic Four could work for film. The Avengers had more based on The Ultimates... it could definitely be much better. If you haven't read either, then you have no idea. Those were more "mature" and as realistic as it could be.

The Ultimates volumes 1 & 2 are staples of annual reading for me.

 

The Death of the Family is pretty good too. I guess that's volume 3 in the series. Scott Snyder can write.

 

I've never been a big FF fan either, even when I was a kid. That said, historically it's a huge Marvel property and it definitely still has its fans. You are right thought that it's a tough translation to the big screen without coming off as corny, Mr. Fantastic in particular. I think it can be done though. And I suspect that Marvel is really looking to get it right this time around after that last debacle.

 

Yeah that's what I'm starting on now. I'm planning to get completely caught up on the series via digital.

There is something to be said for having a hard copy in my hands but I'm really loving digital. It's so nice to be able to read anytime, anywhere without having to actually have X book on you. And that guided view is really great as it helps you avoid what's coming up next on the same/opposite page. Makes it all feel much more cinematic IMO.

Not to mention there are awesome sales going on all the time.

 

Digital is the reason I got back into reading comics.

Also not a fan of FF BUT they do have one of my favorite villains all time in Doctor Doom.
