I don't really care for standard scoring on D just because of garbage time scores. I know it affects offensive players also but with the eagles game they would have went from 4 points to 1 point just because they were up huge and let the panthers score. Maybe something like under 25 a certain number of points and then over 25.

Either way the eagles D scores huge last night. 19 points off sacks and turnovers and then 12 off the touchdowns

I'm not sure how intricate the settings for rules are... but would it be possible to do away with negative points altogether but keep positive points for keeping an opposing offense under a certain threshold?

    E.G. something like:
    0 pts allowed= 10 pts
    2-13 pts allwd= 7 pts
    14-23 pts allwd= 4 pts
    24+ pts allwd= 0 pts

I just think a defense should be rewarded somehow for holding an offense to a low score (especially considering the way the league favors offense so heavily these days). A defense that allows 50+ points but has 4 sacks shouldn't receive more points than a defense that allows 10 points but only had 2 sacks.

    Yes I could kill negatives.

I wanna situate a balance between points allowed, yards allowed and dynamic plays. (Sacks, INTs, TDs)

I'm not confident that "10-7 points" based on points allowed is always going to balance out a dynamic play team that got a pick 6 plus 4 sacks, but allowed 30 points.

What if we pushed it more towards yards allowed instead of points?
    Under 60 rushing -- 4
    Under 100 rushing -- 2
    Under 200 passing -- 6
    Under 250 passing --4
    Under 300 passing --2

    Ints -1
    Fumbles recovered -1
    Sacks -1
    TD- 6

    Zero points allowed -10
    3-10 points allowed -8
    13-21 points allowed 4
    Zero after 21 points.
    No negatives.

Defense is still gonna matter. Maybe not garbage time points but actual stats and yards yes.

It could probably use some adjustment but even in my vanilla/standard Yahoo league the Eagles scored 34 points last night. Just a crazy good night for them

    No doubt.

My main thing is I think 2 points is too much for sacks and points allowed should matter at least somewhat. But I'm good with whatever. I wasn't trying to start a big stink over it I was just curious why it was set up this way as it's kinda bugged me all season long.

Don't kill it so bad that it isn't even worth the risk of starting a defense.

I like the getting rid of negative points. I think sacks at 1 point is fine but I think takeaways should be 2 points
