Don't think the Pac-12 is or even should be scared of the lesS-E-C. I'm not going to go back and compile the data for 2013 and 2014 but...

    For those who like stats:

    Conference Comparison:
Pac 12 vs SEC during the BCS Era
    (1998-2011) 14 years

AQ Conf=Pac,Sec,ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Big East.
    ND=Notre Dame, Mtn=Mountain West Conference,
    Usa=Conference USA.

    .........................................PAC................................SEC...........................
    ..........................................W-L...............Win%........W-L..................Win%
    head to head..................[ 12-11 ].......23g=52%....[ 11-12 ].......23g=48%
    vs the AQ Conf...............[113-97].....210g=54%....[147-122]...269g=55%
    All AQ Conf minus ACC..[100-89].....189g=53%.....[85-76]......161g=53%
    vs ACC,ND,Mtn & Wac...[157-92].....249g=63%.....[121-61]....182g=66%
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Totals-AQ,ND,Mtn,&Wac[257-181]....438g=59%....[206-137]..343g=60%

    vs CUsa,MAC,& Sun Belt.[46-5]..........51g=90%.....[246-34].....280g=88%
    vs D1aa...........................[44-2]..........46g=96%.....[95-2]...........97g=98%
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Totals-Usa,Mac,SB,D1aa.[90-7]..........97g=93%.....[341-36].....377g=90%

    BCS ERA Non-Conference Games
(AP Top 10 vs Top 10) Ranking at Time of Game

    PAC.................................SEC
    3-3.....road......................0-2....road
    3-0.....home.....................0-3....home
    8-7.....neutral..................14-6...neutral
    14-10(58%)....................14-11(56%)

    The numbers are pretty even.
    Win percentages are almost identical.

The only real difference is the Pac played about
2x as many road games and also played approx
100 more games vs the better conferences.

The PAC played approx 30-35% of their OOC games on the road.
The SEC played only approx 10-15% OOC road games.

Plus, the SEC played 280 more games vs
the 3 weakest conferences (Conf USA, MAC, & the Sun Belt) and D1aa teams.
SEC played 377 games against the weakest competition
The Pac played only 97 games versus those same teams.

The PAC is weak. A few too teams playing ****** big10 teams or vandy don't mean ****.

Trivia question: which conference won 9 championships in 16 years?

It's truth. The sadder thing is I bet your the guy that will celebrate when the big10 has a better record than sec in bowl games. Even though every same person knows that's because it's the third ranked big team vs the sixth ranked sec team that played etc etc

First of all, you should know that conference divisions leads to inaccurate conference standings. Mizz and UF both could end up with a better conference record than LSU and Auburn but we know which teams are better.

Secondly, Nebraska's bowl win over Georgia #5 vs #5.

Actually I think I will like the new playoff system, but the subjectivity is still there. The only difference is similar to what you said....instead of catfights over who plays in the National Championship Game (or prior to that, which Bowl Game was the determiner of the National Champion), now we will be bickering over who gets the last couple of playoff slots.

That said, there is really no better time for me (from a sports viewing standpoint, anyway) than November-January...in large part because of the intensity of the college games coming up.

At least you are finally admitting you are a conference fan!

I like the playoffs. I think a six team playoff would be the most ideal.

The top 2 ranked teams get a bye.

    I like the playoffs too...

BUT it in no way fixes the main criticism of the BCS. And I simply hate on all the BCS haters that constantly complained about it since pre-BCS it was much worse with no championship and just random bowls. And outside of Auburn getting left out in 2004, the BCS got it right every year.

I hope no SEC teams are in... conference arguments are more entertaining than the games, from time to time!
