First time I saw what a concussion can do was this kid on my team made a great catch to set us up for a field goal right before half...were goin to the lockers he comes up to me like panicy asking man what happened all confused i thought he was jus ****ing around..til he comes. Into the locker room crying with the trainers and our coaches tell us what happened. Dude literally had no idea where he was what happened or anything. He couldn't play for about a month

Yea, they are no joke. A player I was working with recently had a concussion. He had to wear these dark ass glasses that would block the light. If he was exposed to bright light he would get dizzy, a crazy head ache and would start to throw up.

Craziest thing I've seen in highschool football was our receiver broke his femur at an away game. Ambulance had to come on the field and everything. He went straight into emergency.

I've seen 3 concussions up close, all 3 were tough moments for everyone there. It's scary seeing your teammates go from fine to temporarily paralyzed.

Plenty of non bitches have played other sports than football, or no sports at all.

We see how short these careers are, while baseball players often have long careers. And it may be the safest ever, but still more injuries happen in the 11 minutes of football, vs the 60 minutes of other sport play.

Me, personally, I was 100 percent burned out by senior year. It's about what the kid has interest in. If they want to play football, cool. But I certainly won't push it on him.

Maybe if the Titans didn't suck big hairy balls, my view on the sport may not be as tainted.

As it is, I don't care to watch any level of football besides casually hangin out at the bar on Sunday with dad and a buddy.

Sick of the lowlife players, sick of the refs, sick of Roger Goodell. The combination of the three, killed the NFL to me.

I got 2 concussions playing basketball. After the 2nd one, I couldn't get out of bed for close to a month. The first one, I was chasing a guy on the break, he stopped and pump faked, I jumped, and then he dumped me. I tried to grab the net and ended up falling on my head. The 2nd one, I took a knee to the head on a loose ball. I took a pretty nasty elbow once and I'm not sure that wasn't one, as well.

Following pro and college ball, I think the chance for a concussion in hoops is pretty real. Guys fly around and smack their head on the floor. You are starting to see a lot of college players getting a few and retiring.

Sports is definitely alot safer today....driving a car today is a lot more dangerous.

Magic Johnson kept his son away from sports completely....not sure that worked out.

Lebron seems like a good dad. I hate him, but he seems to stay close to his sons.

Also- football isn't that bad. Was least hurt in that than any other sport I played, and I was one of the smallest on field.

But I wouldn't want to do it for 10+ years from HS through college/NFL... it'd definitely wear on you. But as far as playing as a kid-HS? No biggie.
