That contract though. He'd be better than any QB on our roster, but that's not saying much. He's still average and makes a lot of mistakes thinking his arm can fit the ball anywhere.

 

Also lot of money for him. Money doesn't equal production with him.

 

Not to mention, he's a mental midget

 

We don't another QB with no heart. He is like locker. Has all the intangibles to tease you but ... Can't get it done.

 

I rather sign locker if he accepts for less money than bringing in Hoyer. Locker would be a good back up if he accepts the role.

 

I can't stand Cutler but I would much rather have him than Hoyer, Mariota, Winston, Locker or Mettenberger playing QB for us. But surely there's no way Chicago will even trade him. If Cutler does become available then I hope we look into it. Jake and Zach aren't nearly good enough to keep me from pursuing Cutler if there's ever a chance to get him this off-season.

 

I am not interested in Hoyer. He is this years McGown. I do not see him having any success anywhere else. He may shock me, but I doubt it. We all need to hope that Mett is the answer. He has shown some flashes. If he doesn't step up we are in for a long rough run next year.

There are not a lot of options out there at QB. Mett may just be the best option we have next year. I know many do not believe we will be able to get the job done; but he is showing some progress. He held the ball a bit too long against Baltimore. However, he does have a big arm. He is a rookie. He is going to make mistakes. I really hope he can pull it together. This is not the year that I want us to burn a 1st round pick on a QB and there are not any real FA options either. I REALLY do not want Cutler. He is a joke. He throws at least 1 pick a game. I know Mett has thrown a pick in his 2 games, but at least he is a rookie. Cutler has no excuse. We do not need another head case at QB.

 

Any chance the Browns like Hoyer enough to offer him a long-term deal and ask for offers on Manziel? Just curious.

I don't want to spend another 1st round pick on a QB either, but we may have to do it until we hit. I like Cook and Winston especially this year. To me, Cook is the mold of what a Whisenthunt QB looks like.
