I'm actually warming up to giving the keys to Mett.

Whisenhunt and Webster suck. We're going to waste the next X amount of years with them trying to figure out how to put the team together. No sense in wasting another high pick on a QB who is doomed to fail because of organizational disfunction.

Let Mett take the brunt of the hit and we can draft some obscure lineman at #3.

Sorry if I'm not high on moral victories in the NFL, especially when we're 2-8. Personally I'll wait until the season has finished to fully evaluate Mett.

We have serious other needs too. Our D-line was straight up out-manned tonight in the 2nd half. Maybe it's conditioning, maybe it's a lack of talent. Our entire defense needs to be buffed up.

Our coaches and managers will have a lot of work to do between January and May deciding which direction to go in the draft.

Can someone tell me if Mett's pick 6 was on him or Hunter?

It was hard to tell from where I was sitting, but I thought it was on Hunter.

I've enjoyed the "he played well outside of the pick six" line. We lost by four. That could have very well been the deciding play in the game. Instead of the Steelers running out the clock they're trying to score a touchdown to win the game. They've struggled inside the redzone all year(and in this game). They would have been passing the ball to try to get as many possessions as possible and we would have blitzed the hell out of them.

But we're desperate. I get it.

    Well, here's the thing...

Blake Bortles was the #3 overall pick in the draft and everyone seems to commend him on his performance this season despite the fact that he's thrown like a million pick 6's.

Mettenberger was the #178 pick in the draft, and he's been better than Bortles, so there's actually plenty of reason to be optimistic when a 6th round rookie has made three starts and not been absolutely horrible... and held his own on Monday night against the Steelers.

Dude threw a pick 6, yea. But he shook that off like it was nothing and played well minus two throws to Kendall (that still could've been caught).

Again, I need to know if that was his fault or Hunter's. I really don't know.

The point is... this QB has more potential than any QB we've had in a long time. I'm not saying he's the next Brady. He's not. But he could be a decent QB. We'll just have to wait and see.

Also, it's important to note that he did get rid of the ball quickly tonight and only took one sack. That was my biggest concern with him.

As of right now, I want us to take either Amari Cooper or the top defensive prospect and roll with Mett next season. If Mett sucks next season, then we go QB.

That's why they're the Jaguars. They tolerate pick sixes.

I'm not talking about just Jags fans... I'm talking about analysts in general. He's received plenty of praise this season.

Just saying we should be happy that our QB who went #178 is better than the first QB off the board at #3 overall.

I'm not a big believer in either of them. Wouldn't have wasted a draft pick on any of the QBs in 2014.
