Right, but you seem like a brighter human-being than Adrian Peterson probably is. Have you ever heard the man speak? He didn't receive a Grade-A education in the backwoods of Texas.

I think youre mistakenly assuming Adrian Peterson is smart enough to know better.

 

But he also just had an incident where his other son was beaten to death. At that point I wouldn't expect any person who went through that to raise a hand to a child.

 

Use the term "son" loosely with AP. Dude gets around

 

if AP was drug tested and they found something, he'd be suspended for an extra season, or even banned.

Oh yeah, they're cracking down on the abusers more nowadays it seems.

While I think a parent should be able to punish their child within reason (I'd never hit a child, I know of much more effective options), this is a solid point I hadn't thought of.
