So we are out of the playoffs and have already jettisoned our original starting QB and RB in favor of younger players. We are not getting enough production out of OLB. Wimbley is hurt, Phillips is released which I'm guessing means Groves starts with Moch getting playing time as a backup on passing downs.

While Mett is playing quite decently for a rookie and Sankey is doing the best he can and the OLB situation is not getting fixed this year, perhaps our BIGGEST problem is the OL.

I will hopefully start rewatching games this weekend and focus on the OL to see what the actual problems are but my gut instinct is that Levitre is the main culprit. That's not to say everything is his fault, just that I think he's making more mistakes (or at least bigger mistakes) than the others.

So as with the other positions, it's time to see what we have in some other players so here are some options they should test out and before anyone goes crazy saying you can't shuffle players on the OL...watch me! A lot of players move around in college due to getting better or injuries so most have already played multiple positions. Plus, at this point, what do we have to lose?

Originally I was gonna suggest testing Spencer out at LG but with Schwenke gone for the rest of the year so here's my more radical plan (IF Lewan is healthy). Move Oher to LG and Stingily to RT. I've seen plenty of Oher at RT and he might be a better fit at OG. Our problem is we are getting beat outside but when we get beat inside we are getting too much pressure and sacks on our QB's. Maybe moving Oher inside gives us more push and with his pass blocking experience in space, he'd do even better in a tighter space of LG.

By my count Levitre gave up 3 sacks last sunday making a rookie mistake. levitre should NEVER give up a sack on a simple DE/DT twist stunt but he got beat 3 times not picking up the stunting defender. That's a mistake I expect to see Schwenke make or even Lewan...but not a seasoned vet!

Time to re-shuffle the line and see who can and can't play. Let's see what Oher can do at OG and give Stingily some time at RT.

Zack martin of the Cowboys is a rookie OG who was projected to be a LT but a lot of scouts thought he could be a good LT but might be a Pro Bowl OG. He's doing very well at OG and Dallas is running all over everyone. Maybe Oher can be a better player at OG...?

Wishful thinking my man. The problem with this OL is the players simply suck, Levitre and Oher especially.

Typically, LT is the most coveted position and requires the best pass blocker followed by RT, LG, RG, then OC. So maybe if he's not great at RT he might be better at LG (which is where the biggest problem lies. He's also a tad on the short side for an OT at only 6'4.

Theres nothing out there that re-arranging the pieces is going to change. At the momemt we just have to accept that we are only Amano away from the complete bowl of **** soup on the line.

Its pretty sad when we invested all these draft picks and this money into the o-line, and we still need 4 o-lineman.

O-line is the one part of a team im weary of mixing up. You have 5 guys that need to be in unison.

Yea well as true as this is, we've been talking about that for years now. How long do we give guys to figure out how each other plays? I mean 10 minutes on any field in America and I can tell what the guy next to me is doing and not doing. Its not this hard, this bunch of misfits has failed as a group.

As far as Im concerned, Lewan is the only one Id welcome back next year. Roos can come back too if he's cool playing Right Tackle in place of Oher.

Yea we need to keep grabbing O-Line in the draft. Pretty funny, most people hated Lewan as our first round draft pick.

not sure if sarcastic.. but the Warmack and Schwenke picks are not looking so hot. We had to spend a top 15 pick to get a decent OT.. not good.

    just throwing this out there...

in the past, while suffering thru Amano getting launched like a NASA moonshot at C, this fanbase has been told in no uncertain terms that making OL moves was IMPOSSIBLE - cant be done in season. TC is when these move HAVE to be made... ect.

of course we knew it was utter CYA :bs: by the coaches. If you make a move and it works then it make them look stupid for not doing it in TC when they were supposed to.

which is why Levitre will not be benched. Oher should be moved to LG and Levitre can come down with a mystery injury that will leave him all healed up come February as he looks for another sucker, I mean job. But this will not happen cause FO & KW would look stupid when whoever he puts there is clearly better than the overpaid underperforming Levitre

They will ride that loser into the offseason and cut him for CAP reasons, not because signing (FO) and playing him (KW/MM) was STUPID
