It is painful to watch the Titans play and I get pissed at bad calls but what gets to me the most in college or NFL is announcers that are obviously biased toward one team or another. Don't know if they are fan boys or just have bets riding but either way is it irritating.

I am another fan from early eighties onwards. Its difficult to even equate what the Titans have become against the perpetual struggling yet always fascinating Oilers saga.
I get Redzone as part of my satellite tv deal over here and I watch every Sunday but it really doesn't have the same kind of appeal as it has done even as recently as five or six years ago. I did subscibe to GamePass for a few years but figured that once you've seen another Int , another fumble , another defensive end running an out route for a touchdown by possibly one of the worst QB's I can ever remember then its good that the extra cash stays at home
Years of drafting cruds , lousy coaching and increasing , IMO , disinterest in the franchise from the ownership have bought us to where we are now.
Not forgetting some of the rules changing for the worse, lousy biased commentating , money grabbing NFL execs and excrutiatingly pitiful refereeing week after week that means that the problem goes far deeper than the current state of the Light Blue nation.
The game is currently rotten and we are somewhere near the bottom of the Dungheap.

I still adore the NFL. I just don't care that much about watching the Titans. The rest of the league is excellent. Not watered-down in the least.

Wow. How long you been watching? There are so many critical game changing subjective penalties called I no longer find the competition credible.

Since about 2000. Subjective penalties have been around forever. If you think things are any different now, I would suggest it's purely recency bias. With the advent of video review, officials get a higher percentage of calls right than ever before. There will always be blown calls on plays like pass interference, but in my opinion it's no worse now than ever.

I'm quite the opposite. I don't care much for the other teams in the NFL besides the Titans. I used to watch other games such as Sunday Night football, Thursday Night football and Monday Night football every week. I can not remember when I watched a complete NFL game besides the Titans.

I'll be honest, I'll always root for the Titans until they move to another city. I get ramped up every game and watch it to the last second.

This is another subject and has been discussed before, but I'm to the point where the commentators for the game are so bad, I rather listen to Mike Keith. Good thing I have a DVR so I can time the action with the radio.

I share some of your same feelings, which is terrible because if you ask anyone they'd tell you Im the biggest football fan they know.

The Titans are mostly to blame, and as you alluded to, the NFL has changed their product and its not for the better. Im still watching games tho, but if I ever reach that point there may be no coming back. The minute the NBA started awarding flopping I gave up on that brand of basketball, Id hate to do the same with the NFL.

Youve heard the term "offense sells tickets" right?
Goodell is all about the dollar. If sales are up he's doing his job and no one will stop him. It will probably get even worse as long as he's steering the ship.

pretty much agree with all posts here.
It's not fun to watch until playoff time.
all the highlighted parts are gospel. I know I sound like a broken record, but the excessive penalties/replays/challenges have slowed down an ALREADY SLOW GAME to a crawl.

I watch football because my dad and best friend do. And Gotitans keeps me around.

Social media has made it worse.. because it outs these athletes for who they really are.

I think once I started getting older than a lot of players (5-10 years ago) I started seeing them as the ridiculous children that they are, and not the men I thought they were when I was 10-20 years old.

NFL players are so bad.. that when there is a player that is a normal individual, they look like a saint.
