About the scum of the Earth thing, theres a lot more good guys than bad ones. Dont let a few bad apples spoil the bunch for you guys. How many true creeps get exposed each year? 5 maybe 6? Out of nearly 2000 players thats not that bad.

for ghastly crimes. How many get away with BS yearly, because they are NFL players?

guarantee you there are dozens, if not hundreds of "turn the other cheek" moments by authorities, because these people are NFL players. Can confirm that it happens in the college ranks (Even Indiana Hoosiers garbage football program)

they preach to the big market/fan base.. Same reason the Raiders are always a hot topic in the offseason. Its a legit chance to stroke their ignorant fan base.

when its two small market/fan base teams then Solomon Wilcots usually likes the Titans against the tarpkitties - LOL

you mean like Chris Johnson's illegal sex den operation he never got in trouble over?

Still, I believe most of these guys are good guys.

if you are right about that.. then 50.00000001% are good guys. there are a lot of bad dudes in the NFL.
Even a lot of guys with good reputations (Favre, Marvin Harrison, McNair, etc.) end up being lowlifes a lot of times.

All we hear about are the bad things.. that's how the news media works, so I get that the numbers could be skewed.

its hard to argue that we in fact tend to hear about the antics of the scumbags

and we all know most of the good pub is generated by the NFL teams themselves using the players as props. Nothing wrong with that but those guys are not usually visiting sick kids in the hospital in the off season. Just sayin'

NFL/Titan interest is down dramatically for me.

I used to watch every second of every Titans game, til the clock hit 0:00 in the 4th. No matter how bad the loss was, I was there until the end (whether watching at home and on TV or at the game). I've been watching the Titans for 15 years, and before this season I missed a total of 2 games, and I even remember which 2 I missed. (The snow game against the browns when Eddie George had a career day, and the KC game a few years back where CJ and Lendale had career days) ... it was not willingly that I missed those games, and I was not happy about missing those games.

This year, I have already matched that (willingly) and will probably miss more games before this year is done. I just feel there is better stuff to do than sit around and watch the Titans get beat again. Especially when it appears they aren't even trying at times ... it just pisses me off to see the lack of effort.

And I used to watch all the NFL I could. I would watch all the morning NFL shows up until the noon kickoff, watch the noon game, watch the afternoon game, watch the sunday night game, and stay up late watching ESPN highlights. Then watch the MNF game, and again ESPN highlight all week long.

Now, I don't watch any morning shows. I barely watch the Titans, and might catch 10 minutes 1 of the other games. And I can't even remember the last time I turned to ESPN. Fantasy and GoTitans are really the only things that still connect me to the NFL.

As long as the Titans are in TN, I will consider myself a Titans fan. But if things don't change soon, it will be in the same sense that I consider myself a Preds fan or a Vandy fan ... Pull for the hometown team, but only catch a few games a year and pay attention if they make the POs

Any interest that has declined for me is 100% due to the Titans.

The league is watered down in this way...

The league has tried, through rules, to emphasise the passing game.

The problem is, there are no more stud QB than before. In fact, with college going to a style of play that, according to conventional wisdom, is not compatible with the NFL, fewer blue chip pocket passers are coming out than ever.

So you end up with an NBA type situation, where a handful of teams are pretty much guaranteed success for a decade, because they won the QB lottery. The others are doomed to mediocrity or worse.

In past eras, teams could dominate with defense and or run game. That is getting harder to do. Yes, Seattle did it last year... And the league promptly changes the rules to stop it.

They are making a league where it is only possible to have one identity... High throttle passing attack... But there are not 32 guys capable of doing that... There are maybe 8.

Youre not at all turned off by rule changes that limit what defenses are allowed to do?

I mean outlawing the horse collar was long overdue, but these other rules like defensive holding are a JOKE! If you grab a jersey its a flag, just grabbing cloth in your hands gets you flagged even when you dont have any influence in the receivers route. And whats being called pass interference now? DB's dont stand a chance anymore.
