I'm trading back. Similiar to when STL traded #2 to Wash for RG3. Hopefully there's a team inbetween #3-#7 who offer '15 1st, '15 2nd, '15 5th, & '16 1st (at minimum). We then draft Shane Ray with our first, NT & OL in the 2nd.

Here's the thing. There is NO consensus Super Blue Chip prospects to take 1, 2, or 3. They all have issues.

Mariota played in a gimmicky system and it's all he's EVER played...even in High School. Could he be the next Russell Wilson (whoc was a 3rd rnd pick)? Yes. Do we run that type of offense? No! I think Alex Smith is a fair comparison. When Smith came out after running Urban Meyer's gimmicky offense to perfection, he didn't exactly light it up in a conventional offense. In Whiz's offense, he's a major boom or bust pick.

Winston is an even bigger gamble. Sure he wins wins wins. Didn't Vince Young? Winston has gotten away with a ton of dropped INT's that will mostly be caught at the next level. You can't throw 3-4 INT's and expect to win. We don't have FSU's talent relative to the rest of the league to keep us in a game where he turns it over and over. A hugely inconsistent QB in the 1st half followed by a very sound second half is the definition of inconsistency. And that's not even mentiong his off the field stuff.

Leonard Williams. I'm not sold on him being the First overall pick...but someone has to be it, right? Williams has GREAT talent, but I disagree where some people say he has a high motor. He loafs a lot...meaning he comes off the ball late about 70% of the time and hand checks the OL...looks to see where the ball is going and if it's not coming at him or past him, he shuts it down. He can flat out rip the OL off him and has great burst...especially when they slanted him a couple of plays. But I don't see the fire or passion. He made some plays when they ran near him but he also got beat a couple of times and got blown off the line once. For a player of his talent, that should never happen! Even on 3rd and long he's slow off the snap most of the time. He got a few good pressures but after getting hundley to throw it away, he knocked him down (good) but then stood over him and jawed at him like he got the game ending sack...which resulted in him being flagged for 15yds and an auto FD. He reminds me of a smaller Haynesworth. Great talent but not a high motor and it seems like he reads how good he is rather than going all out. UCLA's MLB Kendricks was the exact opposite...a very high effort player who has a passion to get to the ball and was making plays all over the field but will probably be a 3rd or later pick.

So if our coaching staff stays the same and Whiz is calling plays and using his system, I don't think you take a QB in round one and hope to heck a team would be willing to trade up for a truck load of picks.

Right now those teams are Jets (4), Raiders (5 though they have Carr), Skins (6 though they have McCoy), Bears (10 if they trade Cutler), Rams (12), and Texans (13) with our most likely targets Jets (4...no QB), Bears (10 if they trade Cutler), Rams (12). Ideal scenario would be to drop down to #4 for their 2nd this year and another 1st next year. I would probably attempt to drop down again depending on who's available and what we want...maybe all the way to the Bears at 10 or Rams at 12 for another 2nd and 3rd this year and another 1st next year.

There are a handful of impact players that I think would really help us in the 5-15 range and aquiring 2 MORE 2nd round picks and another 3rd this year would really give us a lot of impact players for 2015 plus another TWO 1st rounders in 2015 would give us an A++ draft (as lo0ng as someone didn't mess the picks up) for the next 2 seasons.

Of course, I have zero faith Webster would manage to trade down for a King's Ransom. I think he will flat out just pick someone. And if you follow the logic that Webster and Whiz are safe...meaning they are blaming the players...how do they NOT take a QB? The safe realistic strategy is to take Leonard Williams #1 and if they want a QB grab Cook in rnd 2 or later. We have bigger fish to fry.

Not my ideal scenario but the type of thing I'd wanna see...check here...

No, but it's funny that several off-season things I posted weeks or longer ago have popped as other people's new idea recently;) It's all good and gave me a good laugh...which after watching the Giants anihilate us this morning (didn't see the game til today) was a WELCOME distraction:)

And always good to see people think alike!

Only bad thing is, that was when we were picking much later in the draft. Now if we get the #1 or #2 overall pick, Eagles are out but a few other teams will be in. If TB takes Winston...Jets will be DESPERATE to move up as could the Rams and Bears if they trade Cutler (hopefully NOT to us or the Jets)!!!

Not from late 20's to the 1st or 2nd pick! I would want to drop that far unless we were getting several draft loads of picks...like ALL of thir pick for the next 4 years maybe? They would never do that. If Kelly thinks he can win with Mark Sanchez...he doesn't give up 4 drafts full of picks for one guy!

Do you really believe that? Kaepernick had 82 TD over 4 seasons, plus <58% career completion. Mariota had 101 over 3, 67% career completion. Stupid comparison.
