That is where we disagree. This isn't Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin. I don't see anyone trading up for either of these QBs. I don't believe the GMs believe these guys to be franchise QBs either. We will learn more about what teams think of these QBs in the offseason. I tend to agree with twotone. I like Gregory. I don't know why it bothers me when people start talking about trading back every offseason. Personally, I would love to trade back, but the fact is that it rarely happens, especially for this team. This draft, however, I feel we need to hold on to our pick and get a true playmaker. I know playmakers can be found later in the draft and that is because there are idiots like us picking early.

The Duck Sucks....Winston is much better, but has major off the field issues.

First Round for us has to go to the biggest Play Maker available at that time for our defense.....

Jets front office wants to throw the game (they are FORCING Rex to start Geno). Rex wants to WIN! He stuck it to the front office the other week when they went back to Geno and he ran the ball a million times...they still lost). Trust me, Rex knows he's already been fired, they just won't announce it til season's end but why does he want a few more L's on his record to get a higher pick for his successor? NO! Rex also knows he might be auditioning for a Coordinator job in the offseason or even another HC opportunity so he has stayed classy, taken all the blame on himself even when a ton of it should be on the front office and Idzick.

The Jets will try to win and given our poor play and injuries, the Jets SHOULD win. That is until Geno throws the ball. He's capable of a Winston (the kind where you throw 3 INT's in a quarter...not the coming back kind). Geno is gonna be looking to make some big plays due to him being lambasted for his comment that he's shown 'Flashes of Pro Bowl play.' UGH!

I agree no one else should be in danger of losing to us. Jags actually are feeling good, texans too and the Colts are a powerhouse.

As far as where we pick if we win or lose, I don't really follow that stuff because I will never root for us to lose. There is little guarantee we won't mess up the pick no matter where it is!

But if the Bucs pick first and Jets pick 2nd, I'll bet we take Leonard Williams as the 'obvious' pick. Webster likely will be cautious to make aggressive moves that might not pan out (though I think he SHOULD trade down and reap a truck load of picks). If he stays put he'll also say they had no trade partners...lol

I don't think Idzick will survive. Woody is taking enough heat every day on how he could possibly defend his GM (letting him keep his job) after the terrible team he put on the field while holding $24mil in cap space for a rainy day. The owner and GM and coach are in a major disconnect (read dysfunctional). You have the Owner who likes Rex but brought in a new GM. The GM had to keep Rex for this last year of his contract so Rex is in a win NOW situation. The GM basically sabotaged him by keeping most all their cap space for the 'future.'

The NY media thinks both the Giants and Jets need to clean house though a lot of flack has come off the Giants after blowing us out! The Jets will have incentive to do that too.

Idzick's strategy btw, is to get a QB on the cheap ala Russell Wilson in the middle rounds of the draft. That is, until they stumble upon a top 3 pick with 2 QB's sitting there....

Only way I see Idzick selling the farm is if Woody tells him to get one of the top 2 QB's or ELSE!!!

It is an area of concern and I can only speak to it from a stats perspective as I don't watch all of thier games and see how/why he is fumbling. I do know that 9 of those fumbles and 5 of the lost ones were in the 2012 season. In 2013 he had 11 fumbles but only 3 lost. This year, he has 7 fumbles with 3 lost. Statistically this is a bit of an improvement. When you see he already has more than 20 more carries this year with fewer fumbles, that's improvement. His OL has been pretty bad this year too. I know he's had a LOT more pressure on him from watching a few games and the stats bare this out (29 sacks this year vs 18 last year and 17 the year before).

While this is an issue, there has been improvement this year and reasoning behind some of this.

Did teams really think the woefully inaccurate Locker, Ponder coming off a subpar year, and gabbert were 'franchise' QB's? probably not but all 3 were taken pretty early (unfortunately). No, there is no Andrew Luck but Mariota looks a lot like RG3...in a good way but that is the issue. Mariota will need time to adapt to a pro offense if you dont bring in a Chip Kelly type of offense. Teams used to draft a QB in the top 5 like McNair and groom them mostly on the bench for a few years. Would we be willing to draft Mariota and do something like that?

Trading back happens all the time...just not with our GM's! It's funny how every year they say we had no trade partners but teams in front and behind us seem to be able to move. And then later we found there WERE teams interested but a deal wasn't worked out. Guess that's we call not having a trade partner...when we don't actually make the trade.

I think he is saying, he isn't sold with Williams for us, and it makes sense. Essentially another Casey, while great, leaves us a bit one dimensional on defense.
