I had rather see Manning as an owner than be a coach. I'm not sure the players could handle him on a day to day basis...then again as an owner he would be in their face when they screwed up..players lose no matter what

Forgetting for a moment if the Titans would move if they were sold.. What are the most likely landing spots for any NFL team looking to relocate?

LA is always talking about.. and recently there has been speculation of a team going to London. What are some other cities?

Steelers have been rumored to be looking at Little Rock, AR as a place for their 2020 team.

Even though I started this thread, I haven't been able to follow it very closely.

Have people adequately covered the fact that Peyton Manning has nowhere close to the $2 billion needed to buy an NFL team? Dude probably doesn't even have a total net worth of $200 million.

He won't be owning an NFL team any time soon. Maybe as a minority partner, but someone else will bring the money and have final say over everything.

Trying to decide if I'd follow after a move.
I guess I'd have no reason NOT to but I don't have any of the connections that I used to.
From where I'm standing it's easier to be a 49ers fan; don't think I could root for anything LA.

Right. I just wanted to make sure people realize that. I read back through a few pages and people were talking like Manning would somehow be the actual owner.

Frankly, I think it's a little farfetched to suggest any billionaire is going to buy an NFL team and immediately hand over control (or even a large amount of control) to someone like Manning, who is a very smart person but has zero front-office experience. The kind of person who becomes a billionaire and buys and NFL team is the kind of person who (almost always) wants to retain final say.

I can easily see the Titans being sold. I will be surprised if Manning is a significant part of any ownership group.

They did it in Denver and that appears to be working.

I think Manning is the type of person who actually would probably be very good in the front office. I am guessing he already is a fairly good businessman and he clearly would know what is required to win on the field. I think he would probably have no issues bringing staff and mgmnt folks into the fold.

I also do not believe the team would move if something like this happened. Manning has no following outside of TN. The dual benefit from a purchase where he is heavily involved and the new "face" of the organization is that he has such strong TN ties and that would pay huge dividends for re-energizing and rebuilding the fan base. If he became co-owner and main guy I think the fans would flock back like crazy. Imagine the first home opener with him as owner and him coming out to plant that sword in the middle of the field. The place would go absolutely nuts.

I personally believe this would be a dream scenario for the Titans...and therefore unlikely to happen.
