Mariota is a system QB he is not worth that pick, neither is Winston. I would much rather trade the pick for additional picks!

I do not think they take Winston 1st overall. He is too much of a risk. His off field issues alone will cause some to back off his value. Add in the fact that Tony Dungy who has a close connection with Lovie Smith is all over Mariota and I see them taking the Duck.

Somebody has to be willing to trade with you...

The Titans can't just be like "we're trading!"

I agree completely that I would rather trade back for several picks. However, it is too early to tell if Mariota is a system QB. Everyone said the same thing about Brees, but I would take Brees in a minute. Brees played in a spread offense as well.

I do not think Mariota is "Aaron Rodgers in the waiting" as Dungy & Jim Mora would have us believe, but he does win games & has no off field flags. He may turn out to be a bust, never know till you see him attempt some plays from under center. Hopefully Pro Days, Senior Bowls, & Combine show some things about that. All that said I think it is way too much of a guess to spend 1 or 2 on him. Just my thoughts. LOL

He's going to Tampa so it doesn't really matter.

Can someone anyone tell me why we should want Mariota? Ive seen most of his games and yes he's electrifying at times, but I do not get the sense he's an NFL QB. Im thinking a bigger Johnny Manziel, and I know for a fact Johnny can't play in this league, Id hate to have to later learn that about Mariota.

That was an omission. I did want to make it public.

Bigger, faster, better arm, not a douchebag. He is much better than Johnny 8 Ball from what I have seen.

He's not like #1 on my list, but he reminds me more of a big Russell Wilson than Johnny.

I don't see any scenario where Ruston overrules Whisenhunt. They both talked about how well they got along with each other and neither one would want to disturb that.

If I was in charge, Whis would be gone and I'd back a truckload of cash up to Gus Malzahn's house and make him turn me down. He turned a cornerback into a legit QB in a spread offense in college. Imagine what he could do in the NFL with a QB that's played in that system and was the best at it?
