AT THIS POINT: I want a QB in the first round, PERIOD.

Anything short of JJ Watt, defensively, wouldn't garner any kind of interest desperately needed for this team.

Win or lose, I want to see a new QB. At least VY was fun to watch for a season or two. I'm done expecting greatness from this franchise. It seems like it's simply not going to happen..

I'd at least like a reason to watch. I'd like to enjoy taking my new son to a game or two in his first 2 years of life.

Yes. I want him even with his issues. You know who else had issues?
Cam Newton. You know who has had similar issues since coming into the NFL? Ben Roethlisberger. I don’t think there are many among us who would pass on those two given our QB situation of the past 8 years or so.

    1. Winston was acquitted this past week of the rape charge. A serious thing if true, but I think we all know anyone can accuse anyone else of anything. Doesn’t make it true. College players have targets on their backs, he just wasn’t smart enough to move out of the way of it.

    2. The thing he got in trouble for the most was screaming curse words at the school cafeteria (or wherever it was), he got suspended for half a game for that. On the other hand, almost every person in the NFL media was defending Tom Brady last week when people criticized him because they could read his lips while he was cursing on the sidelines.

    3. We aren’t drafting our next pastor. We are drafting a QB and I kinda like it that Winston is rough around the edges. You know who wasn’t rough around the edges? Jake Locker. He was Mr. Professional, courteous, kind, and look how well that turned out. We drafted personality and character over skill and that's what happens. You need some guys with attitude on a team. We’ve drafted too many guys that are “clean” off the field and where has that gotten us?

    4. Winston is a LEADER. Look at him on the sidelines during the bowl games that are coming up. He is constantly motivating his team, talking to them, and keeping them up. He’s always involved in the game and cheering from the sidelines when he’s not on the field, unlike Jay Cutler.

I would hate to see the Titans again pass on a guy who could be a stud in the league because of some immaturity issues, something everyone gets past usually once they're out of college for a while. This isn’t VY throwing his pads in the stands and defying the coach. This isn’t PacMan shooting up a strip club. The kid screamed curse words at school, was caught taking crab legs when most of his teammates say that they get the hook up at that same grocery store, and was accused of something that the judge dismissed because of lack of evidence. The media has just pounded him over all of this that it makes it look like it’s worse than it is, because he's a Heisman winner.

The guy has an incredible skill set. A VERY strong arm, accurate, mobile, and would actually fit Whis’s system very well. All I care about is winning and nobody can say that Winston isn’t a winner. If he has issues off the field I don’t really care. Most off the field issues don’t affect the team, except getting a few more questions from the media about incidents. I can handle that if the guy gets my team back on the winning track.

I have come to grips with this as well:

If you want high character athletes to be a fan of: The NFL post-2000 is wrong for you.

The media outs the players for every bad thing they do. Before then, ignorance was bliss.

Maybe golf would be a better choice. Even some of them are crazy.

But NFL players have bad reputations for good reasons.

I guess you just have to hope that your team's players don't get caught.

Sometimes, you can't even predict who was going to be the violent type. Would not have pegged Ray Rice as one, or AP.

    It's a crapshoot.

Just a point to the bolded. To say he was acquitted of rape implies he was charged of rape. He was never charged with sexual assault. He was found to have not committed a student cinduct violation. Huge difference.

Winston found himself in a situation many other men have found themselves in. Do I think he's a very bright young man? No. Do I think he's a great person? Idk. I don't know him personally. Other than the sexual assault accusation, the crab legs, airs oft gun, and the FHRITP talk is just a kid doing dumb sh*t.

That would be great, however to get that number 1 pick we have to loose & Bucs have to win. Us loosing is not a stretch at, but the Bucs winning....... That is a very long shot
