Whisenhunt year end Press conference

Whiz gets this off season, with RW to try to improve this team. Theres a good FA group. We have high draft picks. Next year, we will tell what we have with Whiz.

If there is no improvement next season, then my patience will wear thin with Whiz. However, just like Munch, you have to give him a couple years.

This past off season, they failed imo. They cant do that again this next season and keep any hope with the fan base.

 

This. I think that our FO and KW all lied to us when they said that they expected us to win and make the playoffs this season. They knew we sucked but couldn't just come out and say it.

No way we can come out empty handed again this off-season. If we're not 8-8 or better then I seriously consider cuttin KW and RW.

 

What coach or gm in thier right mind would publicly say that the team they are on sucks. I agree with you on the second part of your post though.

 

He is just not that good. If you are going to tank a season why do it this year??? The top of this draft is not very strong at all. Why give him credit for tanking???? He called a horrible season, made questionable calls & decisions. He was just horrible as a HC this year. Maybe next year is better maybe not, but don't give him credit. He did not intentionally tank. He was just that bad a HC this year.

 

Injuries effected our season VERY little. We SUCKED ASS with the entire roster healthy for several games! With the exception of Z Brown who wasn't changing the world with his play anyway.

Whiz is using this as an excuse. It cannot be used as an excuse. The injuries piled up after our season crumbled, not before. I would love for the injuries to be the reason for our fall. That would give me hope for the future. The truth is Whiz was horrible this year. I hope next year is better with more of his type of players.

 

No. You dont get to come back next season, if we improve, and say "Well it looks like Whiz finally learned how to coach." That is not logic.


You say injuries didnt hurt. We lost both of our blocking TE's early. 3rd game for Thompson, 5th for Stephens. I am not saying that it caused some kind of massive downfall, but losing two out of your three TE's going into the season, hurts. (especially in the running game)


Whiz could have done a better this season, no one will deny that. (especially on challenges) The expectations people had though, were unrealistic. I dont understand how we sit here all off season last year, and say that the coming year is all about finding out whether Locker is the answer or not, then turn around and be upset because we suck. Most people agreed that we were not going to be good this season, other than a few hopefuls.

We went through 3 QB's this season. Our offensive line was horrid, even when healthy. Our WR's fell off the deep end. Even Wright was falling down all the time. There are 3 people worth mentioning on this team. 3 out of 22. This offense was as pathetic as any I have ever seen. Earlier in the season, WR's were getting open and Locker could not get the ball to them. Once we dumbed it down, they were not getting open consistently. I saw this with my own reviews.

This site, and fan base, is being way too hard on Whiz. They were too hard on Munch last season and while so many people were proven wrong, they are making the same mistake this season. I just wish people knew how to step back and take a breath and look at this objectively.

Whiz should not be judged until after his third season. I will be much more willing to point out his short comings at the end of next season.

This franchise was a train wreck and everyone knows it. This year, people are using Whiz as the scapegoat, exactly like they did last season with Munch.

 

I dont see how coaching cost us any game. We could not get a running game going at all. We had 3 QB's. We had a horrid line, that was changed early because of injuries. (speaking of the TE injuries)

Yes, Whiz could have been better, but I dont believe he is why we lost games.

I expect a big change next season. I expect us to be a lot better.

Its just too early for me to hang Whiz out to dry considering how bad our team is.

 

sorry man but I just don't get the whole - lack of talent, no coach could have dont better argument. Munch won 7-8 games with basically the same roster. Whiz comes in with Verner and CJ, but brings in several players and we are a complete embarrassment? To me that's a coaching problem.

I also have to disagree that we were unfortunate to get players- as if they were forced in us. The front office and coaches chose those players. Most of them were at least decent with their previous team, yet they come here and suck...again coaching.

Texans won 2 games last year, new coach, first overall pick a non factor yet the almost make the playoffs and embarrass the titans.
Cleveland worse record last year, new coach beats Titans at home in biggest comeback ever.
Redskins won a few games last year, new coach , complete disfunction and beat us with colt McCoy.
Jaguars nearly beat us at home then beats us on YNF with a rookie QB and a dlineeman that wasn't worth a crap here.
NY Jets, biggest circus in professional sports...beats us at home.
top that with we were not competitive with an good team we played.

to all those who think whiz tanked this season, keep dreaming. You are just trying to convince yourself that we are not going to suck the next five year. The is no logical reason to tank a season. So here's to Winston or Mariotta. I put their name in duct tape on my 10 jersey over that clown VY jersey and hope the front office figures out that hiring whiz was a mistake.
