please help me understand your post? You point out how bad each position played, but then you think whiz is a good coach?

Chills just went up my spine thinking about the link someone posted to the Arizona Cardinals message board about all the ways they grew tired of Whiz as a coach. Same things that reared their head all season.

I hated the hire from the moment he came here. I wanted literally any other coach but Whiz and thought him coming here would be the dismantling of the franchise. I was and still kind of am hoping to eat crow in the future.

But year 1 is done, and so far that is looking more likely than him turning the organization around.

He chose the Titans, because he knew he could form a roster of his liking. Detroit pretty much had a lot of pieces in place. To say we have a more talented roster than Detroit is pure ignorance. I seriously doubt that he ever said that.

He chose us over Detroit for a few reasons...

    1. Nashville > Detroit.
    2. The AFC South sucks, and the NFC North is much harder to compete with.
    3. We offered a better contract deal.
    4. This job came with less pressure than the Detroit job would've had.

Whiz has been crap. No doubt about it. But IMO the Lions would be in the same position they are right now (a playoff team) if Whiz had been their coach.

Munch was 7 and 9 with practically the same roster. And I just don't see a single thing that shows any improvement or advantage to what whis did this season, the worst season in titans history.

I'm not up in arms saying fire him today, I get that he will have one more season. I just wish there was more to give me any kind of real hope that 2015 won't be a repeat.

Agreed. I don't even care about the wins and losses. I have not seen one area of improvement. Defense was worse, the run game sucked, our passing game sucked, and more importantly, PLAYERS did not progress. We are in serious trouble.....

If I were to break it down, I put 85% of the results we saw this season on the talent on the field. Same for any professional sport. Whiz had average talent that was further diminished as the season wore on.

But that last 15% can make or break a team. Scheme, play-calling, challenges, who's on the field, etc. are all coaching decisions. And they share with the players team attitude, identity, accountability for fixing repeated mistakes, etc.

I'd like to see Whiz say that he needs to do his job better moving forward. If he wants to establish an attitude of doing what it take to get better as a team, it has to begin with him and trickle down.

That's why this area is flowing with people from Michigan.
I lived in a Detroit burb as a kid in the 70's. It was spectacularly nuts.
I didn't know what a pimp was technically, but I saw them regularly in full Hollywood Shuffle type glory. Lots of great Rock n Roll out of Detroit too.
