Gregory would be nice in the first. I'd like Sammie Coates in the second round instead of Cooper in the first, throwing that out there. Linebacker 3rd round like Jordan Jenkins. Petty or Grayson in the 4th.

Well, our "system" sucks, along with the guy running it.

Is it really that scarce though? JW, MM, Petty, Hundley, Cook (MSU), seems like there are several other project QBs out there. It is a tricky draft this year though. J. Worley is out there too...jk

Yes... That's pretty scarce because none of them are great NFL prospects right now. Hundley is really bad from what I've seen of him.

And Cook is returning to school next year.

From what I have seen I do not think any QB is worth the 1st or 2nd pick this year. Most years QB needy teams pick at the top of the draft and a QB is taken, but I would not take one that high this year. It is just not the year to take a QB high.

If Mariota is there at 2 I am ok with taking him but would be fine taking BPA on defense too.

Otherwise I am fine with taking someone like Hundley or Petty later on around the 3rd. I don't think Mett is most likely the long term answer and needs some competition at the very least. Players on the level of someone like Rusty Smith wouldn't count so we should at least spend a 1-3 on a QB somewhere.

Good lord people. Talent could slap you in the face and you'd never see it.

Mariota is a prospect but you can't take the throws he's making at oregon as an inclination of what he can do at the next level. Nfl is all about anticipation throws and tight windows. Mariota refuses to do that in college. (Mainly because why should he when people are wide open) he's often came off his first read which would be an NfL calibre throw to jump to the next one. The kid doesn't pull the trigger well. But the ceiling is there. Great arm. Likes to work the pocket. Game management. Sure. But he's going to take a couple years to start to even climb that mountain.

Winston on the other hand throws nfl calibre passes nearly all game. He's bad bad bad against A gap pressure. (Pressure up the middle) this is his biggest issue. He gets forced into making horrible decisions when that pressure moves him. He tries to do too much. However, the kids football IQ is off the charts. All the checks, protections, hot routes, everything runs thru him. He is pro ready. Make no mistake. He's got the balls to throw the ball ANYWHERE. His release needs to be shortened so Cbs can't break on it and his mechanics need to be fixed so he is more consistent. Especially throwing to his right. (Where he normally sails balls)

But yea. Go on believing mettenberger who can't evade pressure is better. There's a reason why mett has looked as good as he did this last year... He had pro coaching. He understands the game. He has a huge arm. But the guy can't manage a game to save his life. (Plus he's injury prone) and I have a hard time believing he can process info fast enough to consistently make the throws needed in a timely fashion.

Mettenberger doesn't raise the talent around him.

if you don't think mariota can throw into small windows, you need to watch the last Arizona game again. However, the major different in the two is decision making. Mariota is smart enough to listen and learn the NFL game. If you don't think the talent is their you are insane. Winston on the other hand has been covered for his whole life, everyone telling him he is the best. He has been videoed numerous times arguing with coaches. You think that is going to change when you add the number to pick, drafted to save a franchise to his resume? Nope. Mariota is far more mature and capable of being worked with and developed. Winston's stupidity and sense of entitlement is not going away anytime soon. Need history to back this up? Please see Vince Young and Russell Wilson.

Nothing wrong with arguing with a coach if theyre wrong on something, you just have to be clever how you go about it cause no coach will tolerate being embarrassed in front of his team
