Not hard to coach? He was screaming his head off at his head coach just yesterday.

 

He made several very bad overthrows. The interception wasn't entirely his fault but he by no means had a good game.

He also fumbled a second time but was lucky one of his players picked it up for him or he would have had a 3rd turnover.

 

I have read the majority of the comments about Jameis Winston and I decided to hold my tongue until now.

Disclaimer: I don't want to select him with the #2 pick.

Fact: He is the undisputed leader of a team that is 23-1. He is the quarterback at Florida State university. Ladies and Gentlemen, this puts you at the head of the table. He won the Heisman last year and won the BCS Championship. He is a 20-year old junior in college. He is young, dumb and full of (you know what). He has continued to make dumb mistake after dumb mistake (off the field). He is a great/awesome/inspirational competitor. I love his competitiveness on the field, but he has not grown up and it shows in his off the field demeanor. Now to clear up some things.

The clip of him yelling at Jumbo Fisher. I don't know if any of you have ever played competitive sports, but in the heat of the battle this happens all (let me repeat) all of the time. This is not uncommon, at all. He respects his coach. That is why when Jumbo Fisher told him if you don't calm down, I am going to sit you on the bench he did exactly what his coach asked him to do. He calmed down.

Next issue: I have read the bust comments. I am not going to say who has a higher probability of being a bust between Jameis or Marcus but I will say that Jameis's transition to the league will be smoother. His completion percentage for his career is 66.0%. Touchdown to interceptions: 65 to 28. He threw for 4,057 yards last year and 3,907 this year out of a pro style offense. He goes through his progressions and willed a less dominant team (than last year) to an undefeated regular season.

Marcus also has impressive stats throughout his collegiate career, but via an unconventional offense. A great percentage of his throws are behind the line of scrimmage. Watch film on him (this is not a biased opinion). His running ability makes him a threat, but we all know what happens in the league with running quarterbacks that can't make reads and/or doesn't go through all of their progressions from the pocket.

I understand we are debating because many want a quarterback. He is immature, young and dumb. But he is a legit quarterback prospect. This should be the debate, stop focusing on his stupidity.

I'm not a fan of Winston. I'm just giving an unbiased opinion.

He played a decent game despite the score. Everyone seems to think he had an awful game and was the reason they lost. Not true at all.

I don't want us to take him... not even a little. Just saying that he's the better NFL prospect over Mariota.
