I don't think he will suck, but on the Titans yeah he will suck. If we switched to a Spread system like the Pats or Eagles then yeah he will be good, but that's not the type of system Whiz wants to run and we already know he won't change. So yeah you don't take this guy IMO.

This makes no sense whatsoever to me. Let's be honest about a few things. Mariota is going to the Bucs. Meaning the Titans will be left to take Winston. In my opinion Winston is UNDRAFTABLE by this organization. We do not have the leadership or support structure to keep this guy out of trouble and he clearly has a lot of maturing to do. I just can not trust this guy to lead a franchise. He may be a good pro at some point if he chooses to play in the NFL (may seriously consider Baseball), but I honestly really would start following a new team if they drafted Winston. You guys think VY was bad with his off the field antics, this guy is like VY on Steroids.

Why draft a guy who will more than likely either be suspended or not be able to set the tone for the team because of his off the field antics. Everyone talks about how much talent he has, but let's be honest about this Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell were both INSANELY talented QBs. Maturity issues set them back as pros. Unfortunately, I have a strong belief that Winston is closer to them than a probable NFL franchise QB. This guy has all these issues now and he doesn't have a boat load of money at his disposal. Once you sign him to a large contract I think he regress and not mature. So if you ask why pass on the guy that's your answer.

So I take it you didn't see the puff puff pass video? lol

This dude definitely has character issues. If you know all the cameras are on you and you potentially may declare for the NFL draft as a top QB prospect, why create that as you image?

Sorry, but this is a case where I don't believe you need an interview to determine there are character at the least maturity issues with this kid. He's not ready to be in the spotlight of the NFL that's plain as day to see.

no he is not. Yeah I saw that video. It is so said that instead of disciplining that young man, everyone catered to him hoping to profit off his talent. I simply to not understand how people can think that you can take someone as immature as he, make him a millionaire and put him in the spotlight and expect him to be sussessful.
if you watch Jimbo in the sideline he is constantly threatening him with discipline ( Oregon game, Clemson game most notably) after the championship game last year he couldn't get to him fast enough to remind him to not act like an idiot. With all the stuff we know about him, I just can't imagine what we don't know.
if the titans draft him, I will support him because I love the titans and I guess ill just accept that the titans are just not serious about becoming a successful franchise.

Exactly!!! You can't make someone with maturity issues a millionaire and expect their issues to just go away lol.

However, if the Titans draft I really may be done with this team. Sad I've been a fan since they were the Oilers, but I really might be close to throwing in the towel. I don't think my heart can take any more heartbreak from this team. :-/

Just wondering, is more heartbreaking that they keep doing the same chit over and over with little to no success or that they take a shot at a guy with 2nd pick and then he is a bust?

I think we need to start gambling on top boom or bust type guys. We have played it safe for a long time and you know what the results have been.

We did take a chance on vy and locker, but imo winston is a much better prospect. Locker had bust written all over him and his faults were all on the field. Vy was almost a rb taking snaps in college, huge risk, imo. I supported both guys, but didn't really like the vy pick and really really hated the locker pick.

I will support mett, winston, mariota or some vet we sign. Anybody in two tone blue. I just think if we keep mett, sign a decent vet and draft winston (because I think he has to much potential to pass up), the competition at the qb spot will bring the best out of all 3 players and we will find our wb of the future.

I've followed the draft for about 40 years. The biggest mistakes I've seen teams make is passing on obviously exceptional players because of so-called character issues. For example Randy Moss. When we passed on Moss we sealed our fate that we would not win the Super Bowl. If we had chosen the obvious choice of Moss we might have won several. Conversely when the Ravens chose Ray Lewis they sealed their fate that they would win the Super Bowl.

Good Football players are not always saints off the field. Steve McNair wasnt one either but I loved him for what he did on the field. I don't give a flip what he did on his own time. Dan Pastorini was the original Johnny Football. Ken Stabler was a borderline alcoholic. Warren Moon spent most of his free time either at strip clubs or beating his wife. I could go on and on. This isn't church. It's football and that's all it is. Get over the holier than thou stuff and focus on doing whatever it takes to win. Otherwise quit complaining about losing. You get what you ask for.

The way Peyton overcomes his immobility is by getting rid of the ball quicker than any QBs in the league. It's taken him years to develop that skill. Also even though he doesn't run if you watch his feet they are always moving. Conversely Mett has slow feet. By the way one of the reasons Mett gets hurt is because he's a sitting duck.
