Haha not at all. The QB spot in the NFL is all about your commitment. He does not have it. Why are players like Peyton, Brady and Luck so successful? They eat, sleep, and breathe football. Its a 24 hour job for them. He rather play baseball with his buddies. My franchise QB better be all in. I don't want to have to worry about what he is doing. Look at Mett, I am not sure he is the guy, but he is all in the off-season. Doing everything to get ready for next year. That's what it takes, I don't think he knows that, or will get that through his head. I wouldn't touch him til the third.[/QUOTE]

How do you know mett is "all in". For all you know he's back home smokin weed with his buddies.

Winston was avoiding questions on anything related to football. Dude just lost his first game at the college level and was pissed/crushed. He didn't want to talk to the press, but did because he had to.

The whole commitment arguement is absurd. Every player is different and no one is with any of these guys all the time. Eddie George was a "hard working" fully committed football player. But anyone that was of age in nashville during his titans carreer will tell you he was our drinking and partying with almost all the titans stars during that time frame. On the other side chris johnson went out in nashville, but didn't stay out late and never drinks. Who would you rather have? I pick eddie, sounds like most of you would choose cj.

I just think you're totally wrong.

Not a single Titans fan cared when Jake Locker played baseball in college.

Russell Wilson has been brought up before. No one questions his commitment to football. That's his entire "thing" now that he's in the NFL. A tireless worker who is at the facility 24/7, but he had to leave NC State because his coach didn't like him playing baseball in the spring. Commitment issues? No.

FSU has never had an issue with guys playing multiple sports. Charlie Ward played basketball and football. Deion Sanders ran track, played baseball and football.

The list of guys who played multiple sports in college is almost endless. Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Jameis Winston, John Elway, Toby Gerhart, Tony Gonzalez, Robert Griffin, Andre Johnson, MJD, Donovan McNabb, Terrell Owens, Julius Pepper, Ed Reed and Antwan Randle El are just a few.

Herschel Walker participated in the Olympics in 1992...while he was in the NFL.

The draft isn't a football game. Preparing for the draft for a player is all about preparing yourself to make the most money possible. Why in the world should we care about that as fans? If Winston wants to go play baseball let him go play baseball. Clowney was all about draft prep and that was because he was more concerned about making money than anything else. Why are people criticizing a guy for wanting to actually play sports? Draft prep is a lot more about a guy's passion for money. They are preparing to sell themselves to franchises.

This. Winston is finishing up his commitment to the FSU baseball team instead of bailing so that he can prepare for the draft. Draft prep only benefits him. But why on earth would anybody want a qb that likes to compete right? We should want a Clowney like player that is all about being the first pick in the draft and couldn't care less about the team.

Yep and the preparation for the most important job interview they will ever have will tell you a lot about their mindset, work ethic, etc.

Winston is getting the job. There is no doubt that he will be drafted and be in the NFL if he wants to. The only issue is how high in the draft he will go and as a fan I don't care about a guy trying to maximize that very much. If he was sitting at home on his couch or out partying like Johnny I would be concerned but he plans on staying active and competitive. An athlete wanting to compete and play sports will also tell you a lot about their passion.

This is only true if you can actually compete on offense, right now we can't, so building a defense is a waste of time til the offense can carry their own weight, for the past 3 years they've failed to do that.

    Offense needs fixing first.
