Just a thought, and I may be a little biased here, but I would absolutely love for the Titans to take Eric Kendricks from UCLA. He's an inside linebacker in a 3-4 and if the Titans aren't completely sold with Williamson they should definitely take a look at Kendricks. Right now he's projected to be a 2nd to 3rd round player. The Titans missed a lot of tackles and if there's one thing Kendricks does best it's tackling. Watching UCLA all year I can't really think of times where he missed a tackle,

He won the Butkus award this year. Recorded 149 tackles including leading the nation in solo tackles with 101. He also recorded 4 sacks with 3 interceptions, one for a touchdown. He is UCLA's all-time leading tackler. This Titans defense needs some heart and more players who show up every single week, and that's the type of player you're going to get from Eric Kendricks. This is a bright and respectable kid and could easily captain the defense for years to come.

Avery Williamson has been captaining the defense in his rookie year. He was been probably the brightest spot on the defense this year IMO. Wesley Woodyard, the other ILB, however has missed a ton of tackles and is horrible in coverage. Coverage was an area they thought Woodyard was good. That is no where near the case.

I have not looked at Kendricks on tape, but I will soon. I am trying to get some tape together on Washington CB Marcus Peters as well. He has huge red flags for character issues, but has been called "The best cover corner to enter the draft in the past 14yrs."

We need another ILB to replace Woodyard. Taking Williamson off the field would be a major mistake. He has played hard, lead the defense as a rookie, and most of all: He has produced. He hasn't been perfect, but he is a rookie. I like him a lot. Pairing him with another good rookie (Possibly Kendricks, you seem high on him) could set up the middle of our defense for years! If he is as good as you think he is, then I will be in.

If you can find some links to his tape please post it.

Woodyard led the team in tackles, but I think he probably also led the team in missed tackles & big plays allowed. Maybe tied with Griffin.

I like McKinney as the 1st pick of the 2nd rounder if he is there. I like Mike Hull from Penn State as a late pick. He is a bit undersized, but he is comparable to any of the recent greats at Linebacker U.

I'd be fine with Kendricks, too, though I think 33rd is too high.

One thing to think about as we look at the 2nd round pick for the Titans: We have the 1st pick of the 2nd round, so really that pick is like having another very late 1st round pick. Whoever we pick should have 1st round talent; and slide out of the 1st for some reason. I am really hoping that Webster, Whiz, and the Scouting Dept do a better job than they have in the past. Last years' draft class seemed pretty good. We got solid contributions from them early. Lewan seems solid, Williamson seems to be starter material, I like Jones if he can get on the field more, Huff has been a good special teamer. Mett will be a very solid back up if not the starter. When that happened I wondered if it was the result of better scouting, Whiz's/Horton's influence, or better depth in the draft overall. I am still undecided about that. I really hope it was the influence of the new staff. With so many picks this year early in rounds, we should be in prime position to address needs. BPA is a great way to go if your roster is not loaded with holes. With this teams' needs we need to go BPA at a position of need.

I have little to no faith in Webster. He has not been good at all in the draft with the exception of last year. I really hope that whatever prompted a better draft class is there this year when we need it the most.

I do want an ILB, I was talking about it in another thread. I do think ILB is a huge need, Williamson should be 1 starter, but we need to find 1 more starter. I have zero faith in ZB, Woodyard is a bum, and Gooden is no more than solid depth/ST. We need that hard hitting monster of an ILB. Our run defense was a joke and part of the reason was our ILBs not hitting gaps and initiating contact 5yds after the LOS.

I would be happy with taking a 2nd ILB, but we must fix the pass rush issue first. However, Kendricks is my #3 ILB.

    #1: Benardick McKinney
    #2: Denzel Perryman
    #3: Eric Kendricks

I do love all 3 of them though.

Although Whiz is an offensive coach, if we want to have a decent defense then we have got to go heavy in FA and in the draft. With major holes at NT, OLBer, ILber, and CB. That is a lot of re-tooling.

I still think that to get the most out of Brown's skill set he should be moved to OLBer on passing downs.

Id have no issues landing Eric Kendricks, but you're crazy if you think a top 5 ILB lasts til the 3rd. Guys possibly going in the back end of the 1st round.
