Can you swim 9 miles?

Sharks have attacked humans who weren't bleeding plenty of times...

But yea, there are way too many factors at play either way. It's just impossible IMO.

Walking on water would've been more believable than this.

 

Y'all never seen those "I shouldn't be alive" shows. Dudes floating for days in water.

 

Floating, sure... not swimming 9 miles.

It's still amazing to be able to float that long and would be incredibly exhausting, but swimming 9 miles in that current, in the pitch black, in the cold, etc... nah. BS.

And from what I heard the timeline was 6pm to 4am... 10 hours to swim 9 miles in those conditions would make you an absolute god.

I'm sure more will come of this story.

 

Wouldn't the last 3-4 miles basically be floating in the current taking you to shore?

 

General belief is they mistake us for seals/food. Sharks don't like the taste of human.

Unfortunetly bud, if that were true no one would ever die from situations like this. Mind over matter is certainly true to an extent, but your mind can't trick your body into defying the laws of physics.

Fell overboard. I work offshore in the GoM. He is very lucky that the tides and current were in his favor. That would be scary as hel! especially at night.
