I was hoping this would not be a thing. This guy is no where close to being ready. He has a cannon for an arm, so did Jamarcus Russell. What made him so good these last 3 games is his ability to pick up third down with his legs by running over LB's. That wont always work in the NFL. There is not enough film of him throwing the ball yet. If you watched him, he also had happy feet. Any amount of pressure and he was gone. When they had good blocking up front he could use his cannon arm. That's not a good combo. He has to be able to stand up in the pocket and throw. If he was smart he would stay or transfer to a new school to play. Though, money and fame talk. 5 round to udfa.

I think his best move financial is come out when his stock his at its peak. It he gets benched next year for another QB, his stock goes down.
its clear he has alot of talent and he did well against top teams. I think he has shown immaturity at times and a couple of small off the field issues but nothing major. I think he is worth a shot if available 3rd round or later.

The kid def has an arm, if he gets the starting not over Braxton Miller next year, and develops, I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a 1st rounder. He's got a mix of JaMarcus (college edition) and Daunte Culpepper, with a tad of Big Ben.

He could be elite, but still has some significant flaws.

However, I would loveeeee Zeke Elliot.

Miller is going to transfer. JT Barrett will be the starter. Jones won't see the field unless is Barrett gets hurt.

I'd take that TE that was road grading some trap blocks to spring him.

RIGHT NOW Cardale Jones is not NFL ready, but maybe in a years time he will be, this thread is more premature than my Peyton Manning sweepstakes part 2 thread, but I like how some notice talent when they see it. Cardale Jones has a shot at being somebody starting last night.

Kid is good. But osu's defense won that game.

Here's the thing. Jones SHOULD come out! Miller will transfer and start somewhere else. Barrett will start at OSU. Jones won't start because he's mostly a 1 read guy right now.

Remember, Miller got hurt before the season but Barrett and Jones were about neck and neck for the 2nd spot. But to get Barrett ready, he took almost all the snaps so Jones din't get a chance to develop much during the year.

So if Jones transfers, he'd have to go to a lesser school who runs a similar system and would give him the starting job. It's a gamble because most big school already have their starting QB for next year and if Jones transfers and does NOT start, he's screwed.

So while the McShay's are suggesting he's an undrafted free agent, let's think for a second. What team MOST wants Mariota but can't get him? The Eagles. You don't think the Eagles would snatch up Cardale Jones in a heartbeat??? He wouldn't be their 1st rnd pick but he could be their 3rd rnd pick.

Sure he probably doesn't start for a year or 2 but could still come in in red zone or short yardage situations til he develops into a fulltime starter or at least a great backup. He'd be a heck of a lot better for them than Mark Sanchez was. And he COULD be a monster!!!

He reminds me of Daunte Culpepper!

To me I could definitely see Chip taking a flyer on him in rnd 3 but for most teams, 4th-UDFA is where most teams would put him. Then again, I could see the Niners also being interested if they keep running that type of system. If Roman goes to the Bills as expected...they could have an interest!
