The Cowboys are 'close' to signing Garrett to a 5 year extension apparently. I can't help to draw similarities between him and Jeff Fisher, however it appears that the Cowboys situation is even worse.

Both Garrett and Fisher got their head coaching gigs by taking over in the middle of the season as an interim coach. Both coaches went 8-8 for 3 straight seasons before finally breaking into the playoffs.

Now the Cowboys are looking to re-sign Garrett, and I can't help but to feel bad for them. We all know what they are in store for in Dal. A couple of promising years amid a decade of mediocrity.

At least Fisher rode the coat-tails of a SB run ... IT looks like Garrett is going to ride the coat-tails of a 1 playoff win season lol.

Anyway. Jason Garrett is the Jeff Fisher of 2015 (except, of course, for the actual Jeff Fisher lol)

I don't feel bad for their team one bit. Serves em right. The more they suck the better.

The difference is we got to the Super Bowl and had a good chance to win it late. They didn't get close. We were as good a team as any for a few seasons. Dallas isn't there. And they are already in serious cap hell and will lose the main engine of their offense in Murray. We'll see if they can get Peterson behind that line though I don't know how they'd pay him. Or perhaps they think gurley or Melvin Gordon would be a good replacement!

He earned it for the job he did this year. They're just "America's team"... which means they're the most polarizing team in the NFL... which means they face more scrutiny than any team in the NFL. Some idiot ESPN writer wrote an article titled something along the lines of "Romo still can't win the big game." Are you ****ing kidding me? How about you remove the name 'Romo' and replace it with 'Peyton'? That would be a lot more logical of an article. Romo had nothing to do with that loss. That was a catch, and everyone knows it. Peyton, on the other hand, was 100% responsible for his team's loss and is now 11-13 in the playoffs. The fact that ESPN employs an idiot who writes that type of article says everything you need to know about them. Anyone who faults Romo for that game doesn't understand football. Period.

But Garrett deserves to be coach of the year (if not him then it needs to be Arians).

This year's Cowboys team had a weaker roster, on paper, than last year's team. Yet they were way better. That says a lot about him as a coach. Marineli deserves a ton of credit too. Clearly Monte Kiffin is absolutely clueless with today's NFL and needs to hang it up.

I was way wrong about the Cowboys. I thought Garrett was a sure goner.

Arians was the best coach this year though I can understand the Cowboys love. Romo and the Boys actually played well in November and December instead of imploding. Then again, it helps to ride an awesome rushing attack behind Murray and that OL with 3 Pro Bowlers on it.

But yes, ESPN writing a disparaging article about Peyton...? NEVER!!! lol

Timing is everything... I wish we had gotten Arians for head coach.

    Sigh...
