He will be the one watching from the sideline.

and I don't really care if you think he will be a starter or not.

He isn't a championship caliber QB IMO.

But again, whatever. He will get hurt or get suspended for booger sugar anyway.

Yes he is, as a starter at least.

I'm excited about his potential as a backup.

The same could be said for passing on Leonard Williams...imagine if we take Winston and he flames out either on the field or off (both possibilities) and LW is the next JJ Watt.

The difference is, we're pretty sure we know what LW can do right now and can do it in the NFL. We THINK Winston COULD be great.

We also think Mettenberger COULD be a solid starting QB.

I think the Bucs make this a moot point! If they don't, you see what the Jets and other teams would mortgage for Winston. If they give you enough, you trade out and rebuild the roster and see if Mett is the guy. If he's not, you get a QB next year. If he is, you're that much further along into building a playoff team. if the Jets or no one else offers you much for Winston...that is where you have the dilema. But personally, I don't see how teams wouldn't be throwing big offers at the titans to trade down if Winston was there at #2. Too few QB's and these new head coaches are not gonna wanna start their new tenure with Geno Smith as the starter!

I like Williams and I'm hardly saying his ceiling is low - I do believe Winston's can be MUCH higher. I do agree that if we can sell the pick for an empire- by all means do it. Another QB will come along eventually.

I do believe winston has a different level of capability than most players I've scouted in a few years. He's not luck, but if you can polish him the kid is pretty damn close. He will have to learn to balance his aggressiveness with game management but the ability given the right scheme and situation could really make us jelly af in a couple years.

I've warmed up to the idea of Winston, but fear he is on the Buccs radar. I think he is immature but I like his moxy and passion. I will take the immaturity issues over a system QB. I would rather build a team before drafting our future QB. The Texans are the perfect example of a near complete team without a QB, just average due to poor QB play.

An NFL QB needs to be smart. Winston clearly is not. Have we learned nothing from the VY fiasco? Worst case scenario is we draft Winston and sign Cutler to mentor him. I wouldn't even put that past RW.

You're clearly mistaking immaturity and smart. The kids football IQ is levels above VY at the END of his career. His maturity is what's questioned.

Yea dan marino was pretty bad and ryan firzpatrick is easily the best qb in history. He makes bad decisions off the field, so I'll give you immature, but there are zero facts to support him being dumb.

I actually like some of the 2nd/3rd round QB prospects better than Mariota and Winston. Give me the best Defensive player, then build on QB and other positions. A WR is needed as well.

I saw a very good stat completely dis-owning every argument that people say we must have a top 2-5 qb to succeed in the NFL. No we don't. Of the 48 Super Bowl winning QB, 30 have been drafted outside the top 5. Law of averages say that half the remaining were in the top 2. So, only 9 of 48 super bowl winning qb were drafted in the top 2. We need a good team to match a good qb. You do not take a qb in the top 5 just because you think you have to. That is false
