I've been looking around many different sites doing mock drafts that past couple of weeks and the majority of them have a list of top 6 players with -
    • Mariota
    • Winston
    • Williams
    • Gregory
    • Cooper
    • And pretty much most sites have the Redskins taking an OT
Why do I bring this up? Because if the Jets and Titans agreed to a trade that would drop the Titans down to the 6th spot. If quarterbacks go one and two and Washington selects a tackle with the 5th pick, that means the Titans could snag either Leonard Williams, Randy Gregory, or Amari Cooper (who I personally would love to have). Not to mention all the additional picks Tennessee would haul in.

Vic Beasley who is a DE/OLB from Clemson
    or
Shane Ray Who is also a DE/OLB from Missouri

But of these guys could fill our need from an absent pass rush

Vic Beasley is not that level of prospect. He is tiny. He got trucked about 60 times against Georgia Tech.

Beasley would be fine if we ran a 4-3

Is Fisher our best hope of trading out of the #2 spot? There has to be a team that the Jets fear will move up to grab a QB otherwise they won't move up themselves.

Fisher has built a nice young nucleus in St. Louis, but just has no QB. Could he see Winston as the next McNair and want to trade up for him? i know publically they say they want to go forward with Bradford, but do you really count on him? Also have to wonder if the OC leaving has anything to do with their future offensive plans.

If the Bears and Skins stick with their QBs then who else would be in the market that we realistically would trade out with. I really don't see us trading with Houston. Why would we let them potentially land their franchise QB?

30lbs too light to play in a 3-4 and I highly doubt we'll try converting him to ILB.

Fisher always seem to be involved in what we do. We promoted Ruston Webster just so he couldn't go manage the Rams 3 years ago.

The Jets WANT Jameis Winston (though I think that could be a train wreck) but no way they can get to #1 though Tampa probably wouldn't mind a gazillion picks. But the NY media would probably lambaste the Jets if they gave away their whole draft for Winston. And putting that kind of spotlight on him in the Big City is asking for trouble.

But the only way I see that happening is if the Bucs take Mariota or Leonard Williams and Winston is available at #2. For a fair value trade I would trade out to #6 and if I didn't like who was there, I'd trade back again...and possibly a 3rd time into the low teens.

I think if you wanted to project our best case scenario in stocking picks it would be for the Bucs to take Williams at 1. We drop to #6 so the Jets can grab Winston. The #2 pick is worth 2600 and the #6 pick is worth 1600 so to get the extra 1000 points, we get their #1 next year and their 2nd rnd this year. Already this is an A draft and we haven't selected anyone...yet. But for the sake of this example...we trade down again. In my mind the next obvious player people want is Shane Ray though some might want an OT, Collins (S) or one of the other WR's. For the sake of this example, we drop 2 spots to pick 8 so the Falcons can move up for Ray. We get their 3rd rnd pick. We drop another 2 spots so Fisher can grab his LT and we get their 4th rndr. And then the fun begins. Then we drop down to pick 20 in the biggest move of the draft so the Eagles can move up and select...MARIOTA giving us their 2nd and 3rd rnd picks. I would sure hope for a lot more than their 2nd and 3rd considering what Mariota can bring to their offense but we'll stay true to the chart for this example).

So what would we have aquired after all that trading...9 picks in about the top 108 picks in the draft. Can you say reload? I CAN! Here's a sampling of what our draft COULD look like with all of this trading.

    Rnd
1 (pick 20) NT Danny Shelton
2 (ours 34) CB PJ Williams
2 (Jets 38) OL Cam Erving
2 (Eagles 52) OLB Lorenzo Mauldin
3 (ours 66) ILB Eric Kendricks
3 (Falcons 72) OLB Markus Golden
3 (Eagles 84) OG Tre Jackson
4 (ours 98) QB Bryce Petty
    4 (Rams 106) S Gerod Holliman
4 (comp 128) WR Devin Smith
5 (ours 130) WR Phillip Dorsett
6 (ours 162) FB Jalston Fowler
6 (Pats 223) LB Mike Hull

And we'd still get the Jets 1st Rndr in 2016 (they better hope Winston doesn't bust)

    Potential Roster for next season...

    QB Mettenberger, Petty, CW
RB Sankey, McCluster, UDFA (big back)
    FB Fowler
    TE Walker, TT, UDFA
WR KW, Hunter, Smith, Dorsett, Hagan, Durham
    LT Lewan
    LG Erving/Jackson
    OC Erving/Schwenke
    RG Warmack
    RT Erving/Roos

Massive improvement to the OL. Sign Roos for a year for RT and the best 2 of Jackson, Erving, and Schwenke get OC and LG. Added an awesome FB in Fowler. If we can't run behind this line, fire the coaching staff! Added a backup developmental QB with a big arm which is great as we added 2 burners at WR with Smith being good sized so if Hunter is another no show, Smith will take over. Our biggest problems were our OL and WR production. Problems fixed!

    DE Casey, Klug
    NT Shelton, SLH, Woods
    DE Pitty, Jones, Martin
    OLB Mauldin, Brown
    ILB Kendricks, Brown
    ILB Williamson, Hull
    OLB Golden, Brown
    CB McCourty
    CB PJ Williams
    NB BRW/Sensabaugh
    FS Huff/Holiman
    SS Pollard, Stafford

Added a Big NT who is very active and can rush the passer as well as run sideline to sideline. Added 3 new LBr's including 2 pass rushers who are also good against the run and arguably the best ILB in the draft. Added the best overall CB in the draft and a S who is an INT waiting to happen.

Already, this is a playoff team IF Mettenberger can blosson behind some really good protection. But imagine is we added Dez Bryant and Justin Houston and Devin McCourty to the above...

    Ah...one can dream!!!

For anyone crazy enough to have read this far, below is the mock of round 1...

    Players selected
    1 DL LW
    2 QB Winston
    3 Edge Gregory
    4 WR Cooper

I think our worst case scenario is if the Bucs take Williams leaving both QBs on the board. Then if we can't find someone to trade up who do we take???
