Kiper's first mock

QB is the most important position in all of sports. I think we should go for it with whichever QB is there at #2 but there's no way it happens if Winston is gone.

Mariota is basically the ant-Whis QB. Bascially everything Mariota is, Whisenhunt likes the opposite. I think with the right system and coaching Mariota could be great in the NFL but if Whis wouldn’t change his system to fit Locker last year, a QB he already had, he’s not going to spend the #2 pick in the draft on a QB who doesn’t fit what he wants to do. That is, unless he’s overruled by Webster, which I don’t see happening.

 

Neither of these QB's fit Whiz's system, but it all depends on what the front office thinks and who they "Fall in love" with. I still like the idea of taking the best Defensive player and if you want a QB, hit FA or take one in round 2 or 3 of the draft, as there is plenty of talent sitting there. This team needs to rebuild, they can't be rolling the dice on "What if" players and projects.

Kiper has Dorial Green-Beckham going 18 to the Chiefs. Dude didn't even play last year because he transferred after being kicked out of Mizzou.

Marcus Peters going 20 after being kicked out of UW for getting in to physical fights with his coaches.

Don't see those happening.

 

We can and will discuss Mariota/Winston for the next 3 months, this about about the mock draft. Which I think is really stupid until atleast Free Agency starts. Though, I still look at them confused when he has us taking a QB.

 

Kiper and McShay were way off on a bunch of prospects last year...I don't take much of what they say seriously.

 

ESPN should start a contest:

"Anyone that can get more picks right than Kiper can take his job"

I'm sure they will have 1 million winners so they will just have to select 1 at random

It just so happens the new Jets OC, Chan Gailey, was basically Chip Kelly before there was a Chip Kelly. He loves the spread and if Winston goes #1....

Mel bats about 13% maybe lower on his mocks. He got about 4 of 32 picks right last year in the first round lol
