Yea, I agree with Gut. You don't pick a qb in the top 2 because u think you have to. In another thread I think, I showed how in the last 10-11 years, only three qb drafted in the top 2 panned out. Luck, Newton, Stafford where all way ahead of Mariota and Winston are. They were better prospects. Even so, none of them have been to the Superbowl. You pick who helps your team the most. Look at the 3 most successful franchises the last 4-5 years. Seahawks, Pats, and Packers. They all got their qb in later round or in the 20's with Rodgers. You don't need a top draft pick to get a franchise qb. You need a really good qb in a great system with great players around them. Would everyone here take Matt Ryan? Drew Brees? Phillip Rivers? Eli Manning? They are all verg good QB, but most standards, and are all home with us for the playoffs because they did not have good talent around them. A good QB takes you a long way, but not enough if you don't have a good team. Build the team with this top 2 pick (Williams, Copper, trade) roll with Mett. If it pans out, great, if not we have a better team and a better crop of QB to choose from next year.

I don't want a QB particularly, but I would find it very hard to pass up on Winston if he is there. I would easily pass on Mariota though

No way do I take Amri Cooper with the 2nd pick overall. If he wasn't Odell Beckham from day 1, Webster could fire himself! Cooper would have to be bigger AND faster than we think for him to even be a consideration but how'd the Bills do with Watkins and no QB?

Unless you really think Shane Ray is the next coming of LT, your choices are trade out, take one of the QB's or draft LW.

It's about time someone tried to talk some sense in to these Cooper fans around here.

If you're going to take a WR that highly he needs to be some kind of special. Special size, speed and hands. Cooper has none of those things. He has above average size, good speed and streaky hands.

I'm all about DeVante Parker being the best WR in this draft right now. Natural hands, great leaping ability and a great catch radius.

And I was watching some of Williams' games today. The guy is the real deal. If it isn't Winston at two it better be Williams.

I watched him against Fresno State, Cal and Nebraska. He looked bad against Fresno State. I watched that game and couldn't understand what the hype was all about. He looked slow, unathletic and played high.

Then I watched him against Cal and Nebraska. He looked like a totally different player. Athletic, hustle, violent hands, good leverage and a great swim move. He straight up dominated in those games.

Cooper isn't even a good route runner. He doesn't excel at anything.

If he didn't play in the SEC, most people wouldn't even know who he is.

Williams is the real deal indeed. Williams or Winston at 2, nothing else!

Vs Cal & Nebraska, I swear he looked positive on just about every play in those 2 games.. he routinely pushes his opponent into the backfield. He is a complete player. He's always around the football and easily disengages his blocker to make the tackle when around the ball.

I know we need a pass rusher, we need a 3-4 OLB more than we need a 3-4 DE, but Williams should be the pick. Putting him on the same line as Casey could do big things for us.

Hope we take Williams. Gregory seems risky but if he panned out, that'd be fun to watch. I rather go D and or trade down. Whats the deal with Gregory? I didn't watch Nebraska.
