I think the unsung guy for the Colts is their WR coach... those WRs always seem to get wide open.

    Wish we had that...

Keep lying to yourselves, guys. He's about to become one of the three best QBs in the NFL for a decade or more.

The only saving grace for the Titans is that the Colts have failed to build much of a team around him.

you are 100 percent correct. We are going into an era with lesser QB play than we've been used to. Luck will be one of the top dogs once the great ones are gone, but he isn't even close to them. The NFL wants Luck to take that next big step, but this game puts him in perspective.

The NFL will miss the elite play from Manning/Brady, and there is nobody even close.. The only ones who've been close, Rodgers and Brees, are 30+ as well, and not all that far from retirement. The <30 QB generation is looking pretty poor. Newton/Kaepernick/Wilson/Foles/Bridgewater/ are simply not even close.

Essentially every legitimate NFL playoff contending QB besides Wilson (Team carries him) is over 30 years old. Young guns aren't getting it done. Even Flacco is 30 now.

Once Roethlisberger, Romo, Manning, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Rodgers are all gone in a few seasons.. there's going to be a big lull in QB talent, unless these next few classes produce some real studs.

One does not simply grow Mannings and Bradys on trees.. they're trying with Luck.. not working.

I know every generation has their elite QBs... I don't think this upcoming generation will be able to even come close to the past 2 decades or so.

Is Matt Stafford the next "Great" QB?!?!? I hope not.

No Stafford is not elite, he's got the biggest WR imaginable bailing him out of arrogant throws. Stafford is a less messy Cutler, and you know he's not elite by a country mile.

    Nicksmith makes some excellent points

NFLPA restricts pratice time and this means the product will suffer on sundays

but hey we all pay money to watch 'safe' football right?

of course not. Just make them play without all the armour and the game will be plenty safe

football without pads is called rugby, which is actually somewhat entertaining

but not nearly as fun as football.

I wish football would allow this, could have so many insane highlights

what I want is the equiptment, vast majority of it, to go away but keep the same rules.

those guys wearing all the pads and the rock hard shell on their heads...

just go back to a leather helmet and remove almost all the other pads

I think that would make the game safer and faster

I swear this is a cycle. We are back to the mid 90's. After all the greats were getting up there in age. I think it was Elway who was the last to stand in the late 90's being the only great from the 80's era left. We were left with Favre as I think the best QB at that time and he was same as Luck, except better. Just a wily gunslinger who whips the ball 300 times a game, throws a bunch of picks etc.

Agreed he is not even close as his outing this past week against the Pats proved that. He has a great group of WR yet was only able to put up 7 points when it really matters against better competition in the playoffs.

Let's not kid ourselves and compare him and say he is better than other QBs because of his stats. He will probably be another Peyton but not another Brady.

Run up the stats during the season ala Peyton only to cave in against better competition when it really matters. He is not close to being the best....only time will tell.

He needs to win a couple of big games in the post season before we crown him.
