We can all agree that we're not going to take a LT or a RG early because we already invested in those positions, wisely or not. What about center? I don't think Schwenke is anything more than a backup and Chris Spencer is worse.

I present to you Cam Erving. Three-year starter at LT with five starts at C under his belt. I thought he was a fringe prospect at LT. More likely a RT because he struggled with speed and just didn't move the way you like a LT to be able to move.

Then he moved to C because FSU's two centers the previous nine games of the 2014 season were awful. They were missing calls, blocks, helping to the wrong the side and missing blitz pickup with regularity. Erving came in and completely solidified that line. He looked like a natural. His shotgun snaps were on target(most of the time). There were no issues with C-QB exchanges. He got the second level effectively and has great size for a C(6'6" 308) and great athletic ability for an interior lineman.

He also brings versatility. I think he can play four spots in the NFL, with the exception of LT. He could be a guy like Justin Pugh; put him at tackle and make him fail there before moving him to the interior.

Schwenke is serviceable. So many other positions to worry about. I think if you improve the guys next to him his play will improve.

I'm not against it at all. Fix the line and fast. If nothing else, it adds good depth and they can cut whoever doesn't pan out.

Id like to get him even if he doesn't play center for us. He played lt and c well at fsu. He's big and versitile, worse case id say he'll end up a utility player for us. But he could compete for lg, c and rt.

As much as I like Schwenke, the C position can afford to be upgraded if possible. I wanted BS to be our guy but he just hasn't played well enough to consider this position comfortable.

Well Warmack isn't going to be upgraded. He's there to stay. Levitre hopefully will be gone, but if he isn't then where are we? The same slacktastic interior three.

Schwenke hasn't shown he can stay healthy either. Missed training camp as a rookie because of injury and missed four games this season with an injury.

I don't think you can judge a guy's injury history after two seasons, especially counting missing part of training camp.

There are so many other holes on this team and we can only make so many moves this offseason. I doubt it's even entered the mind of the front office to change the center position. I personally think after tight end, punter, and kicker that center may be one of the positions they consider the most stable.

What round is the most important aspect of getting him.

Im all for upgrading any position on the line, make Schwenke work for it.

If he is as versatile as you say he is, that would be huge for us.

I'd rather draft a center that could start, over some special teams with measurables.
