Am I the only one who doesn't' get Amari Cooper being ranked so high? I watch the guys tape and I just don't see anything special. Sorry but no way I'd take a 6'1" receiver that high.

I do not think him being 6' 1" has anything to do with him being taken high. WR in the NFL has not been dominated by 6' 4" WRs anymore. Actually there are several smaller WRs this year that had major impacts for their teams.

    #1 Rec Yards
    Antonio Brown 5' 10" 1698yds 13TDs

    #5 Rec Yards
    Emmanuel Sanders 5' 11" 1400+yds 9TDs

    #6 Rec Yards
    T Y Hilton 5' 9" 1345yds 7TDs

    #8 Rec Yards
Dez Bryant 6' 2" 1300+yds 16TDs (1 inch taller than Cooper & IMO one of the best in NFL)

    #9 Rec Yards
    Jeremy Maclin 6' 0" 1300+yds 10TDs (1 inch shorter than Cooper)

    #10 Rec Yards
Odell Beckham Jr 5' 11" 1300+yds 12TDs (Played less than a full season)

That's 6 of the top 10 WRs in the NFL this year that are 6' 1"(Or Very Close) and under. Height of a WR can be blown out of proportion IMO. If any one of these guys were in this years class I would bet you would take them that high. Would be crazy not to. Heck the yardage of one of these guys is almost half our team yardage! LOL.

I am not saying I would take Cooper that high, haven't looked at him well enough to say. I would not let him being 6' 1" stop me though. There are too many difference makers that have shown it is not as big an issue as it was once thought to be.

On paper, Cooper is underwhelming. He is a bit undersized, we aren't sure what he 40's, and he is banged up.

When I watch him, all he does is beat people.

Fortunately for him, this is the year for Cooper to piggyback on Odell Beckham and Antonio Brown's success. Throw Sanders out as he was a Manning WR and Maclin playing in a Spread super fast offense. You also have to take into account bulk. Beckham is a solid 200lb guy at 5'11. Dez is 6'2 but 225lbs. He's a beast! Hilton is pretty much a speed Demon but Brown is the real deal.

But here's the other thing...Beckam ran a 4.34 40, Brown a 4.43, Sanders a 4.40 at the combine, Maclin a 4.43, Dez a 4.52, and Hilton ran a 4.34. Even Bryant's 4.52 is misleading because his 10 and 20yd splits are as fast as TY Hilton's and he is huge at 225lbs. Small guys CAN be elite WR's, but the vast majority of them are not and even more rare they are dominant in year 1 like Beckham.

Until we get an accurate number on Cooper's height, weight and speed, I wouldn't consider him in the top 5. If he is closer to 6'1, at least 200lbs and runs at least in the low 4.40's he'll go high. But with Devante Parker, Kevin White and a few others, this is no gimmy.
