Jalen Collins & PJ Williams are two other CB options at #33.

Just say we do end up trading, say with NYJ and can pickup:

1st (6): Shane Ray, OLB, Mizzou
2nd (33): Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
2nd (37): Jordan Phillips, NT, Oklahoma
    3rd (66): Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M
4th (97): Tony Lippett, WR, Michigan St
4th (??): Geneo Grissom, OLB, Oklahoma

There would a ton of options with those picks. We walk away with potentially two new starting OLBs, #1 CB, a true NT, a future star OT, & Nates replacement. Hopefully 6 impact players right there.

I do really like Ogbuehi. He tore his ACL in the bowl game, otherwise he'd likely be a mid/late 1st. Now he's projected anywhere between 2nd-4th. If he comes back even 90% we get another steal. Also, check out Jordan Phillips if you haven't yet.

Everyone says that Ogbuehi is a lazy POS.

Yeah I will definitely check him out. I haven't seen much tape on him.

I'd be happy with PJ Williams at 33, not Peters or Olumu. peters is super grabby which he can get away with in college...NOT in the NFl so hard to know if he can play up to a 1st rnd talent in pass coverage. He's awesome at aggressively coming up on plays in front of him and tackling and being a baller...but I don't see the coverage skills of a Trae Waynes or Williams. Olumu is not as good as his press either. I saw him get beat quite a bit more than I'd like. He's a mid2-3 in my book and may even go lower depending on his knee.

No way would I take Peters at 33 and that's if there were no off-field issues.....and then there's those.

I agree I haven't seen Morgan draw many double teams that I can remember. He is a solid player, but nothing to spend a large amount of money on. I think he could still improve, IF he gets a lot of help. He looked better this year IMO due to better play from ILB Williamson. If he can get some other contributors around him he may play better. If there is a threat on the other side of the field it certainly cannot hurt & SHOULD do a lot for his game.

OLBer is one spot I think we should address in FA & in the draft; anywhere other than the 1st round unless we trade back. I do not think there is a pass rusher in this draft worth the risk at #2. I am sure one of them will have a great season and we will say what could have been. However, it is a risk and we need a home run at the top of this draft or as close to it as possible.

Got no problem with the ray pick but I'm not a big fan of Peters in coverage as he could play a lot lower level if he can't drastically clean up him technique. Also not sold on his long speed. And he has off-field issues. Phillips is a good player but not much in pass rush and he's a major medical flag for me. A 6'6" NT has to bend and he had back surgery. That's a super high risk for a 2nd rnd pick. He would probably worth it as long as healthy, just worried he wouldn't stay healthy given what the position requires. You want another flag player for medical in rnd 3? That's a solid spot for him I think but several others available too. I'll be surprised if Lippett lasts to the 4th. if someone thinks he can play CB...and especially at his size, he'll go in the 3rd or better I think. i like Grissom but again, other options too.

If we trade back, I hope Ray is the choice at #6. Completely agree.

If you're going NT in the 2nd, obviously Shelton isn't going to be there, but I like Malcolm Brown out of Texas. Overall, I might prefer a WR or OG or even another OLB since it's stacked at the top.

Heck, there's a million opportunities with the trade I proposed. Let's say:

1st (6): Shane Ray, OLB, Mizzou
2nd (33): Cameron Irving, OL, Florida St
2nd (37): Quentin Rollins, CB, Miami (OH)
3rd (66): Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami (FL)
4th (97): David Cobb, RB, Minnesota
4th (??): Geneo Grissom, OLB, Oklahoma
    5th: Deontay Greenberry, WR, Houston

Pair this with FAs signings of:

OL: Bryan Bulaga or Mike Iupati
    NT: Dan Williams
WR: Michael Crabtree, Nate Washington, Jeremy Maclin, Eddie Royal, Torrey Smith, or Andre Holmes
OLB: Sam Acho, Jabaal Sheard, Brooks Reed, Brandon Graham, or Pernell McPhee

Lots of options. Shane Ray, Grisson, and a FA provide us with 3 new pass rushers... our biggest fault of 2014. Ray will be a starter day 1, along with the new FA, who would should be able to get on a decent contact. Grissom hopefully progresses and provides us with our 3rd OLB. Irving can play RT, LG, or C, so depending on if we sign Bulaga (RT) or Iupati (LG) he would play the opposite. Rollins has CB1 potential. Perryman is that "thumper" we need in the interior of our defense, he battles with Williamson, Brown, & Gooden for a starting role. Dan Williams, ex Horton/Whiz guy, is the NT our defense is missing. Suddenly, our terrible Run D has two monster in the middle now. Cobb is "muscle hamster 2.0" I believe, he's our Greene replacement and could end up our #1 RB. Greenberry starts the year as our #4, he's alot like Justin Hunter... just hopefully progresses better. Pair him up with a FA WR and hopefully we have a decent WR core at Wright, FA, Hunter, Greenberry, Ford.

We leave this off-season with a brand new LB core, potential #1 CB & RB, pro-bowl OL & 2nd round OL who could be a probowler, and a re-established WR core.

    Playoffs.

The FA targets are optimistic, but I like that draft better.
