Which free agents should the Titans try to obtain?

IDK none of those guys are dominate in anything, but I do like the idea of adding youth to the line, let those 5 guys all grow up together.

 

I'm basing my judgment on the overall team. Each one of those guys came from a team that had a dominating rusher, which usually equates to good blocking. Don't know too much about them other than that.

 

If we address the guard position in the draft, 2 guys to keep an eye on 3rd round or later are Laken Tomlinson (Duke) and Shaq Mason (GT). Both could be studs. Laken held his own against Shelton in the Senior Bowl and really helped his cause.

 

No no dont do that, thats what got Eugene Amano a spot on the starting 5 here, you have to pick apart a line player by player, dont assume anything.

 

Thats my thinking too, get our next LG in the draft a little ways in, not 1st or 2nd. Those guys value is lower so you should be picking them a little lower.

 

Look into the above 3 players I mention they all get high regards from there teams. I doubt anyone here spends hours breaking film down on free agent prospects.

 

Also, anyone who says the run D was not a major issue for us last year should re-watch the Dallas and Pittsburgh games. Those 2 are top of mind where we knew what they were going to do and still couldn't stop them. It was pitiful to watch.

Those are my two favorite players at guard as well. I'm a Mississippi State fan and they played GA Tech in the Orange Bowl and Mason was demolishing people in the running game. I don't even really watch the line that closely during a game but you couldn't not notice him knocking people on their butts. However, the concern with him is they were predominantly a running team and only passed the ball like 10 times a game. He will have to get comfortable in pass pro. I looked him up after the bowl game and he was listed as a 7th-UDFA status, he's really helped himself and improved his stock since then.

 

Someone earlier in this thread said the Run D was not one of our biggest concerns. I disagree with that assessment.
