There are no rules to circumvent in a no huddle so I don't see how you think it is similar. There ARE several rules to prevent player substitutions and eligible/ineligible from preventing the defense from lining up correctly. Not sure how you are not see this distinction.

College has different rules. Try coming up with an NFL team since we are talking about the NFL. And again, what does this have to do with your shot at me about stopping the invention of the forward pass? Or was that just a personal dig for no reason?

LOL! Nice try. There is quite a distinction between ACTUALLY BREAKING a rule (the 1 play vs the Colts) and doing something that is not technically illegal in an effort to CIRCUMVENT the rules.

Holding, illegal formations, pass interference are breaking ACTUAL rules and have ACTUAL consequences....which makes them not doing something that is technically LEGAL in order to go around a rule or rules.

Since you guys seem to not understand what I'm talking about, I'll agree to disagree on this subject. If you haven't gotten it by now....these zillions of posts and future posts will be useless.

This is mostly nonsense. The Giants have the same sideline in all home games as it is the Home side and the opponents are on the Visitors side. It doesn't change or the home crowd people who pay MORE to sit on the home team sideline would be quite upset. I live in NY and have been to many giants games. This switching of sidelines, turning on and off air conditions, opening and closing stadium doors sound nice, but don't happen.

I'm sure messing with field conditions and 'accidentally' messing them up happens, but their are rules regarding this.

There is NO circumvention. Go read the rule book, it explicitly states that this is LEGAL as long as you a) declare to the referee before the huddle and b) exit for one play when switching between eligible and ineligible (unless a timeout or penalty occurred).

Pertaining to this issue the only difference between NFL and college is that in college it specifically states you can't declare an ineligible number as eligible. But the NFL rules specifically allows for this.

Question (still not addressed by you) is as it has been in my last two posts.

For the THIRD time now, you asked me to give you an example of how a team can circumvent a rule. By deduction, that means that the example I give cannot be the same as the rule itself, so yes, you are right that fan noise is different than loudspeaker noise (from a rules perspective anyway) since that is what your were asking me to provide. As with the ball pressure issue where environmental conditions can cause a legally inflated ball to drop below its allowable limit (not against the rules due to cause for deflation), an allowable noise source (fans) can cause stadium noise levels to exceed levels allowed for loudspeakers without violating the rules. That (FOR THE THIRD TIME) is the point.

Oh come on....you are really reaching here. Theoretically this may be the case but anyone with common sense can see that noise level potential in some stadiums at a given point in time is greater than in others.

So you are saying that the rule around holding is black and white, with no gray area? Come on...get real. You have been saying that other teams don't come up with ways to bend rules, and when we bring up examples of this very thing you say that they have nothing to do with what we are discussing. How about the difference between picking and blocking on screens? That is black and white too? Geez.....

Since you are completely ignoring my points every time I answer your questions and ignoring my questions when I ask them, I think I am done having this conversation here. Bottom line is this....the whole circus around this incident is just plain silly, and indicative of the hatred that a lot of folks have for the Pats. The investigation will show what it shows and the punishment will be what it is. Bending rules to gain an advantage is in no way unique to the Patriots.

    I am done with this.....

Air or no air was just hogwash as Brady had 37 completeions and 4TDs against the #1 defense in the league. Folks keep making a big deal out of a small thing that really is just a preference to certain players and has been done thoughout the years by alot of players.

Atlanta was recently accused of piping noise the last 2 years at home games, but nobody is talking about that? I would think that would be a bigger advantage to the home team than deflated balls???

Gut, Vigsted: The Super Bowl is over and yall continue to argue over measured decibels of crowd noise for the 12th page in a row. I know match.com is not free, but I'm sure being such smart guys, you can both afford it.
