TJ we need a "confused" rating

This move is absolutely a consensus decision, our coaching staff is now comprised of Pittsburgh disciples. Adding Lebeau is the cherry on the Sundae.

I don't think this effects Horton at all. I don't see this in the same vein of Williams/Gray. Gray was incompetent as f**k and was clearly below Williams. This won't be like that. These 2 love working together, and it should help. They'll work together. Roto is full of CRAP, this isn't a demotion for Ray.

This is great news for us. Still have to improve the personnel, but this defense is already better. They'll respect him (not saying they don't respect Ray) but them teaching together will do good things for the players.

Wyatt says he's in control of the defense now. I would assume he's here to attract FA's and help set up the base of the defense, then leave Horton to assume the role after he retires/passes(sorry to be so negative, dude is old).

We were like 29th in defense last year so it cant really hurt, could it?

This is exciting to me. I would venture to say whiz and dick are the most talented offensive and defensive coaches we've had on our coaching staff at the same time since Gilbride and Ryan. Now we just need to add a solid nucleus of young players to go along with them. I think drafting Mariota would be a great start!

This will be interesting for several reasons. First, the Titans defense is about middle of the pack if our offense was a middle of the pack offense. Since our offense is about dead last, our D sees a ton more plays which means they will give up more yards and more points than the same D exposed to fewer possessions. What's funny is, we need a Dick LeBeau for the Offensive side...not as much for the D.

Secondly, it will be interesting to see the dynamic between LeBeau and Horton.

Lastly, it'll be interesting to see which players we go after in free agency. I'd expect Dick knows if he wants Worilds, Polamalu, etc and maybe he can convince James Harrison to come here and be at worst a backup OLB and show people what it means to be a WINNER and an elite player. You think Jameis Winston could tell Harrison to get lost? Harrison would rip his non-throwing arm off and beat him with it!

Now if we could also get a new OL coach and special teams coach and....

I think a positive for Horton is his job security basically gets a blanket for 1 year because of Dick being in town. Outside of that, I wouldn't be too pleased if I was him. Sure it's not to have your mentor back and a little less stress off your back to try and "fix" the Titans but a demotion is a demotion.

As a fan, I'm thrilled. This is a step in the right direction.

This can't hurt the team, that's for sure. I still think if the offense could stay on the field for more than 3-4 plays that the D would improve a lot. The D stayed on the field way too much and wore down by halftime.

Really don't think Harrison or Polamalu are going to play anywhere other than Pittsburgh, they are likely going to retire. I'd rather not take an over-the-hill safety that is injury prone. And I would assume he plans to retire a steeler and not mess up his legacy in Steeler lore.

Harrison is just too old. Only played for the Steelers last season because they needed bodies and he knew the system. Wouldn't have come back for anyone else I don't think.

I think this puts Mauldin in play in round two. Seems like a guy both Horton and LeBeau would love.
