I was happy with the signing as I turly thought we had our Danny Woodhead 3rd down RB/slot mismatch and with Whisenhunt saying he was installing an offense focused on taking advantages of mismatches.

Woodhead had over 100 rushes for over 400 yards with 76 receptions (off only 86 targets...88%) for another 600yards. Almost the most important factor was first downs. Woodhead had a total of 56 first downs in less than 200 plays directed at him (carries and targets). A FD about 32% of the time he ran or caught the ball! In additions, he had 8 TD's.

So a backup rb/slot guy who could combine to give us 1000+yds of offense, a lot of FD's and a good amount of TD's (not to mention a Pro Bowl caliber Punt Returner) and you can see how we should have been excited.

BUT...we didn't get anything close to that. Not via the pass, run or even on ount returns! We didn't even play him all 16 games. That is a colossal mistakes either by Whisenhunt, Webster, or both!!!

We got only 40 carries from McCluster for a paltry 131yds and was only targeted 36 times (26 catches for 72%) and a mere 197yds. Perhaps the biggest problems were the single TD he got and only 16 first downs off of 76 plays directed to him. That's only a 24% FD percentage off of runs or when he caught the ball. Clearly, we didn't put McCluster into the types of spaces for him to excel as much as Woodhead. And despite being one of the WORST 3rd down teams for a good chunk of the season, McCluster would sometimes only see the field a handful of times during the game. Talk about wasting talent and overspending greatly on a play per play!!!

With belicheck, I'd think you'd see him used like a cross between Shane Vereen and Edelman. We sit him on the bench most of the time!

Why? You want to basically sign Derrick Morgan to a 5-7yr deal worth $10mil or so a year??? He had 7.5 sacks last year. 9 the year before that. Why do you want to pay him like he's a double digit sack guy? He's not!!!

    Stop wasting money pls!!!

I'd disagree on McCluster. He had more than double the catches in KC each of the last 2 seasons than he did this year with the titans and they didn't give him much chance to do a whole lot. I think McCluster can be used like Woodhead....they just aren't doing it. Why is the big question...

DMC did not look like anything special in TC last year. Like he had proverbially "lost a step" - not much burst or lateral quickness. He can take a lick for a little guy, but just didn't do much. That was exactly what I saw during the season. KC knew what they were doing letting him go.

Listening to this now on The Zone. They think it'll be spun just like when Williams came in, which, IMO, never worked.

I see nothing positive from Horton's viewpoint. If the defense gets better, it's because of LeBeau. If it doesn't, he's likely out and a position coach somewhere else in 2016 while LeBeau just retires.

The offense is Whiz's. That's why you won't see any change there unless Whiz wants to change a position coach.

But I see this clearly as a demotion for Horton.

Well it certainly is a public statement by the organization that Horton wasn't enough to "get it done". MAYBE behind closed doors they've outlined a plan that it simply is a stop-gap to keep fans interested during this "recovery" attempt. Certainly Horton could walk and obtain employment. His own record speaks for itself.
