At the least, when the Titans start acting like b1tches he'll stand up and start beating them!

I really don't want Worilds at all. I simply don't think he's that good for the price he's going to cost. Would rather spend a 2nd on a OLB and start him then overpay.

So besides the 2nd rnd rookie who are our starting OLBers??? We have to find at least 1 OLber in FA...be it Houston, morgan, Worilds, Hughes, Sheard, or go for cheap 1 yr deal or incentive laden deal with Orakpo.

We are going to over spend on whom ever we sign...so we might as well over spend on the most productive guy.

I'd rather have Sheard. Over paying on players isn't going to do anything but screw us in the long run.

Worilds played on the Transition tag last year at just under $10mill. Steelers don't want him back at that price. Writers suggest he's worth no more than $3.5-4.5mil per year but likely will get $6-10mil/yr. They claim he only got 2 of his sacks by actually beating the OT and they weren't very good ones at that. I think Worilds will want something around $10mil/yr. I don't want the Titans to be the team dumb enough to give it to him!!!

I think we will pass on Hardy for obvious reasons. He's a great football player but we don't want that kind of press, Whiz and Webster are under enough pressure as it is. If Hardy goes bad and is suspended for the year, Webster can fire himself the same day. I don't see us signing him.

McCourty isn't likely to see free agency, guy will get tagged if nothing else.

To be honest, we have 3 big problems and they lead to exposing and putting pressure on other parts of the team. Our biggest problems are OL, offense having at least an average TOP (probably need to fix OL and get a #1 WR), and defensive pass rush (at least one great pass rushing OLB).

So the real question is, how do we fix those problems given our current resources...cap money, player availability, draft currency. We also have the added question of whether LeBeau will switch us to a 2 gap NT.

We want to maximize our effectiveness so we want to use these resources to get the most bang (affect multiple problems) for our buck. If we focus on stopping the run but still can't get any pass pressure without sending the house, our D will only be upgraded by how much our offense keeps it on the field.

It is unlikely we will have the opportunity (we have the money) to sign more than 4 top free agents and unless we get a blockbuster trade down deal in the draft, we will NEED to sign some lower level free agents too. But we need to not crazily overspend on the mid-tier guys or lower.

My ideal situation would be to sign Houston and McCourty on D (we'll leave the Offense out of this for the moment) and Dan Williams only if switching to 2 gap. We have the money to do this AND to cut the fat off our roster!

Next comes the draft. Ideal situation...we trade down with the Jets and another team to drop to about #10-#12. I'd even drop as far as #16 for the right price which would be mega hauls of draft picks. With these picks, we could add a DL, 1-2 OLBS, a starting CB and a starting ILB and perhaps a S. If we don't get a mega deal, it really depends on what we get on offense in free agency as we need top players on both sides of the ball. If we got say Demaryius Thomas and Bulaga on offense and Houston and McCourty on D, without a megadeal we probably take LWilliams at DL and then take the best player out of OLB, ILB, CB, DL, OL, RB, etc. I have given several examples of players I would take in this type of scenario and frequently you will see me taking Eric Kendricks at the top of round 3. He would be the upgrade over ZB.

We may end up needing to play ZB or at least starting him while a mid-later pick develops like Williamson did. However, ZB reminds me of Timmons so if they switch to a 2 gap NT (which would protect ZB from taking on as many blockers), I think ZB MAY be a great starter for us. But we'll have to see if he can play within the scheme and not free lance, but a 2 gap NT really frees him up a lot more to shoot a gap and use that speed to create negative plays and chase sideline to sideline. LeBeau may lead to Dan Williams which may lead to ZB being a force at ILB.

    MAYBE!

Or you fix other holes in free agency and take OLB's in the first 2 rounds. I'd be ok starting Shane Ray and Nate Orchard/Lorenzo Mauldin.

Or we could have another season like last year and see himself right out the door.

The guy drafted Lewan and Mett. Character concerns are not an issue. He'll be pulling out all the stops if he's smart.
