pretty condescending to suggest Youtube highlights are the only way people form opinions on potential draft picks.

My issue is your tone suggests that someone cant say Winston will be a bust, because your rebuttal would be that person is just a fan and doesn't know **** and the GMs are paid for it therefore their opinion is superior. I'll state it again, you could beat the Titans draft history by throwing darts at a list of prospects.

Condescending? Give me a break. You know the point I was making. It's like you're trying to get offended.

I'm trying to have a civil discussion with you here. Can you at least try to meet me halfway?

Of course fans can say they think Winston will be a bust. My issue will be if they present it as if they know he will be a bust because they know they are smarter than a general manager. That's a key distinction.

It's an educated guess whether you are a fan or a professional GM. Professional GM has some more access than fans, particularly in the interview and meeting prospects face to face, and the department to help them.

But pro GMs knew Jamarcus Russell was a surefire top overall pick and I remember a large amount of posters here stating he would be a bust and they wouldn't draft him... so, ya know, sometimes the fans are right.

In the end, I just don't think evaluating talent in draft prospects is nearly as difficult as you would make it out to be.

I have no problem accepting that you see it that way, but I will continue to argue the opposite.

There are really only a few GMs that I would say are particularly good at what they do. The GMs for the Patriots, Packers, and Seahawks are who immediately come to mind.

But do I think someone on a forum could do a better job than say Webster, Idzik, or the 49ers GM? Actually, yeah, I do.

Let's start this from the middle. Since you're telling me a GM's job entails a lot more besides the draft, roster, free agency...why don't you spell out the part(s) you think a fan CAN'T beat a GM in?

The crux of the issue is that if you think the Titans have drafted so terribly, with poor free agent signings and Griffen's contract extension,...how can a very knwoledgeable fan not out-perform him?

Lastly, your #3 pits a GM and the team's resources (scouting department, front office, etc) vs a fan when the question was whether a fan could do a better job as GM! I took that to mean if the fan had taken over the Titans GM job tomorrow, could he outperform Webster with the Titans resources helping him....not a fan sitting at home on his laptop.

TTF is not helping his case for having a constant man period.

I really don't wanna be the douche who has to say that, but the dude needs to lighten up. A LOT.

We use the forum to b*tch about how stupid our FO has been. We are in pain because the FO does continuously stupid things that we do not want them to do. TTF apparently doesn't understand these things. I don't know why.

Our (many of us, myself included) draft picks are better than what the Titans have done, for the most part.

I could go on and on.

This isn't in hindsight either. This is leading up to and during the draft. It is incredibly frustrating knowing that we are able to choose better players only to watch our FO to continuously **** it up. People wonder why I'm screaming at the TV most of the time. It's because our picks SUCK ASS.

I will say that I think last year's draft was the most solid draft, as of right now, that we have had in years.

But that doesn't change the fact that our drafts, as a whole, suck. That cannot be refuted.

If you want to love Goodell and defend our FO/Webster that's fine and dandy, but it honestly makes you (not us) seem clueless.

I would beg to differ about Ted Thompson. Aaron Rodgers was one of his few good picks and that gives him so much of the credit he gets now. They've have had more 1st round busts than hits since he got there. Whatever happened to Justin Harrell, Derek Sherrod, Datone Jones, Nick Perry, Ahmad Carroll. The list goes on and on.

What happened when Rodgers got hurt in 2013? The team was below .500. What happened when Brady went down? Matt Cassell led them to the playoffs. What happens if Russell Wilson goes down? I truely believe they are still contenders.

Rodgers IS the Packers. Without him they are a cellar dweller.

What about Eddie Lacy, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Clay Matthews, Tramon Williams, etc?

Sure, Thompson has his fair share of misses (every GM does), but he makes up for it by finding franchise players.

Webster has almost only misses and doesn't make up for it in any way.
