BTW, if you want a Jimmy Graham type, take a look at Funchess. Dorial Green Beckam too but he will be very hard for fans to place due to his off the field stuff. Unlike Peters for me, DGB has first rnd talent (assuming his numbers are what we expect at the combine). Heck, we could also sign Julian Thomas from the Broncos.

    what is he, like 39?

Indy was a nice pre retirement gig for him.

From what i'm seeing it's either come here or retirement.

I feel ya, but being as how we have so many needs, there will likely be a steal mid-40s as well. We have so much flexbility that we can trade down and still have many options. Just depends how much we love this unknown fallen player at #33.

That's just the "pre-season" depth chart... if Gunter outplays Ike, he'd move up in the depth chart. You're looking too much into the depth chart. Treat it more as a roster, not a depth chart. We'd have McCourty, Ike, Gunter, BWW, Sensa, & Huff all fighting for PT.

I'd love DGB at #33, but I believe he'll be gone. Dude will likely kill the combine and has insane measurables. From what i've been seeing, the "off-the-field" stuff is being overlooked for DGB and Peters, but should go in the 1st.

Julius Thomas is a pipe-dream. We already have money invested in Walker, paying elite money for a TE is the last thing we need. If we could get a steal in the draft, it would make sense...

I just think Polamalu would retire before coming to a 2-14 team for the vet min. I'd take them both for the vet min especially if they understand they are coming as depth and to help TEACH/COACH up the young guys. If either of them are starting we are probably in trouble. Then again, I feel that way about Griff too.

I agree that we need picks and short of losing out on a great player (we project to be), we need to get as many picks in rnds 1-4 as possible without being crazy. I'd happily trade back from #2 for a blockbuster and trade back again to the middle of rnd 1 if we keep stockpiling picks though it'd have to be a good trade to get me out of the top 10 unless my top 5 targets are gone. Then trade down into the middle of the round and still get a real first rnd player and re-stock the roster.

I totally agree, we will have a lot of offers to drop out of #33 and it really depends who is available there vs the offer.

I could see someone taking DGB in rnd 1. I am skeptical about Peters as I think he is more of a projection to playing in the NFL and a lot of teams will be scared off by the fact he choked an assistant coach. That's a little more extreme than the usual ways guys break team rules and get kicked off.

My point about TE is the point you just made. Unless we plan on going to a 2 TE set predominantly, it isn't a smart move to draft a 'backup' TE in rnd 3 when we could/should upgrade another position with a starter. I think CB and maybe OL would be more important additions as we can get legit starters at both.

Every single year people doubt cromartie.

    Every single year he performs.

The people on this board who were in favor of just rolling with wilson, sensabaugh over signing a vet corner got their wish.

I don't doubt his current ability. I doubt what it will be worth 4 years from now. And because of our record, coaching and GM situation and his age, he will want big money and a 'secure' contract to come here.

Long term, it's not a wise investment as he will not be worth the contract. If you can get him a little cheaper due to his age and build in the structure that we aren't gonna eat much if he only plays 2 years for us, great. If we are paying him closer to $10mil on a 6 year contract...

    Just say NO!
