Totally agree. It's so crazy that he's a top draft prospect after that absolutely awful college career. Zero bowl games. Zero trophies for being the best player. Guy's a total bum.

Pray the Titans don't draft him.

I'll say this about the Kaepernick comparisons.

If that is his ceiling, I'd draft him at 2 in a heart beat. Kaep's issue are not focusing on football IMO. I expect, and get the impression, that Mariotta is the exact opposite.

I would not be completely upset if we drafted Mariotta, wouldn't love it, but the guy has the talent to be something special.

I like Mett and think he can be "descent" as one of you put it. But we aren't going anywhere with "descent" play at QB. Almost every other part of the team would have to be elite in order to win a Superbowl with a "descent" QB.

    So my list is:

    1. Winston
    2. Mariota
    3. Trade #2 for picks this year and a 1st rounder next year. Use our 2 first rounders next year to move up to target the QB we want in a much better QB class.

Just watching Mariota throw at the combine eliminated any doubt I had that he can learn a pro-style offense. I don't think it's far fetched to think that Whis & Ruston see a tall QB (just under 6'4) with an above average arm and think they can teach him to play in the league. He looked great taking the 5 & 7 step drops at the combine and that was really the first time he had ever done it. He will only get better. I think we are all putting too much stock into the thought that "Whis doesn't like his QBs to run." Sure Whis really don't like the QBs to run, but I guarantee he would prefer them to run and avoid pressure to keep drives alive as opposed to someone like Mett who is a statue and takes too many sacks.

Colt mccoy. Enough said. College wins mean **** when you running the beat system in college football with the best athletes in college football.

And anyone who's take kaepernick for this team doesn't realize he hasn't done **** without a great defense...

I'm gonna let you in on a secret about football. It's really scandalous so please don't go spreading it all around.

    Ready?

OK. Here we go. I might regret this.

    When Colin Kaepernick did this:

The defense 49ers wasn't even on the field.

That's right. Kaepernick made that throw without a single member of the 49ers defense on the field.

And here's the crazy part. I went back and checked and every single throw Kaepernick has attempted in his entire career came with only offensive players on the field.

If this got out, it would shake the football world.

Most young QBs don't do anything(win) with a bad defense anyway. That is a pretty bad argument.

Now if you believe that, and want to build the defense first, that is another story.

I don't see the Rodgers comparison at all. He doesn't have near the arm that Arod does. Think he can be good, though I wouldn't want him here. If he ends up in Philly he will do great.

    Trust me you can.

Winning cures all, no matter your opinion on the guy, if youre a Titans fan, you will embrace any QB that comes in and wins, and IMO that is either:
    1.) Winston
2.) Mettenberger (also had some off the field issues)
    3.) Leonard Williams/Dante Fowler

Lets face it people, only option other than Mett is Winston if he falls, otherwise its gonna be the Mett Show 2.0 next season.

Fix the D and OLine and Mett can shine. (I hope)

Rodgers arm wasn't as strong as it is now when he came out and it's not like Mariota has a weak arm. His arm is very strong and could get stronger ala Rodgers.

I like the comparison. If developed correctly I think Mariota's game would look similar to Rodgers. Run when he has to, great on the move, plays smart.

That's what I was trying to say. It's his upside, not where he is now.

Rodgers was a very different player in college than he is now. Guys develop and change. Mariota's path could be similar.

Or he could be a giant bust. Who the hell knows. Can hit home runs if you aren't willing to strike out.
