We haven't talked about our CB situation too much except to say that if we improve our pass rush our CBs will look better. Are we really happy heading into next year with Sensabaugh and BWW battling for the #2 and #3 CB spots?

Personally I think we need to look at adding a guy like Buster Skrine. He is young at 25yrs old and has experience playing NB and outside CB. He has had 18 PDF the last 2 years which is very solid. Beats the hell out of the production from Coty and Blidi. Buster is also a willing tackler as well.

Nothing is cheap in free agency. So if we are spending money I'd like to see us go after a few young starters. Buster Skrine fits the bill for me.

I don't like the idea of Sensabaugh/BWW/ and a mid rnd rookie battling for the #2 CB spot. Add Skrine in FA and then use the draft picks on other positions.

We shouldn't be happy. We need a solid 2nd starter and depth, especially with BWW coming off of major surgery in which he'll miss offseason. We should be bringing in lots of guys just for numbers sake on non-guaranteed contracts.

We need a CB #1, it's that simple. McCourty is a great #2, but he's not a #1. BWW & Sensa were awful last year, but I have some faith in Huff. If we seriously improve our pass rush, I think our young guns will figure it out.

Wouldn't be mad with a CB at #33.

    I agree on Skrine.

And there's no way anyone likes our situation at CB... It's just that building a solid front 7 is the most important thing you can do on defense. And our front 7 has sucked for a long time.

No DB's look good with zero pass rush or cover zero and still have problems getting to the CB. Improving the CB without addressing the pass rush will only lead to talk of busts.

There are major holes on the team (OLB, OL, #1 WR) so you'd like to adress those positions via draft or free agency. Then, you'd like to upgrade positions of weakness or simply take a player who elevates over any area if he's that good of a player.

CB is definitely an area of concern, we just have more pressing needs honestly. CB is maybe 6th on my list of things to fix.

I agree that CB is not our #1 need.

I rank our needs as follows...RT, OLBer x2, NT, CB, ILB, WR, S

Skrine is one of those guys who is not seen as a #1 CB so he won't be getting crazy #1 CB money. He will get top #2 CB money which I'm willing to pay for a young guy who has been productive.

I would be happy to see us give out 7mil a yr contracts to find starters at RT, OLBer, NT, and CB. Then use the draft to find your other OLBer, WR, and safety....and every other position

Our # 1 need is QB. This league is based on offense with regard to the way they call penalties these days as opposed to the 90's or early 2000's. As far as D is concerned I think CB is a major concern and we need an upgrade but also I agree with @Gut on his point with correlation between CB's and pass rush. I was pissed when we let verner go cause could have still been here and McCourty is a # 2 Corner IMO. Wreh-Wilson should never have seen any playing time if we knew how to manage our players correctly. ( Still Don't know how Webster is employed)

BWW was awful to start the season, but the guy was starting to turn the corner before he got hurt. I'm not going to write him off.

Sensabaugh and McCourty were just plain bad. At the very least I'd like to see McCourty #2 this year.

Ideally I'd like to see them replace McCourty. Wouldn't be difficult, but it won't happen.

I am no fan of Sensabaugh, I feel like he gets beat off the line and I agree with you on McCourty that he is a # 2 CB. He can handle # 2 wide outs but not # 1 which is where him and verner I thought played decent as compared to this year.
