First off, good work. Always love doing mock off-seasons. I'll do another one here after this post.

To start off, I can get behind all these cuts. I'd probably keep SLH however, Ellis is good but he's not THAT much of an upgrade. Hill had a good year, isn't that expensive, and could rotate with Ellis. If, we signed somebody like Dan Williams, then i'd love to cut Hilll - but Williams would take 80% of the NT snaps.

I still don't love signing Suh. He's changing schemes to come here and it's a TON of money invested into 1 player. With that being said, besides maybe Watt + Houston he's the biggest impact player on defense. I ultimately think he'll go to the Giants, Bears, Jags, or Raiders. I'd prefer Houston, but I think he'll get tagged.

I love the draft, hope DGB is their at #33. I think we'll ultimatley have to trade our 2nd + 4th to move into late 1st to get him. Lots of teams in the late 1st could look to take a potential WR1 (Pats, Colts, Seahawks, etc).

Thanks X for the comments. Its my last before FA.

Schefter just tweeted Lions are not tagging Suh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So your telling me there's a chance.

I am fine with Ellis and SLH rotation that you suggested would work well actually, Ellis on 1st and 2nd and SLH on third downs.

DGB is just gravy if he lasts till 2nd round. I love Coates but wouldnt take him at 33, I know everyone hates him though.

Whats your opinion on PR? Your a Fowler guy right?

Mock Off-Season v2, sorry to jack your thread @ScotTitan

    Cuts:
    Andy Levitre - Saves $6.5m.
    Michael Griffin - Saves $6.3m.
Sammie Lee Hill - Saves $3.9m.
    Kamerion Wimbley - Saves $3.0m.
    Bernard Pollard - Saves $3.2m.
    Wesley Woodyard - Saves $2.7m.
    Craig Stevens - Saves $3.5m.
    Shonn Greene - Saves $3.5m

Very heavy in cuts. Whiz/Ruston must realize they are both on the hot seats. Moves must be made to build this team back into playoff contention, or they likely won't be here next year. We get rid of our overpaid players, looking to invest heavily in a better than usual free agency class. These cuts put us at nearly $73.2m in cap room.

    Resignings:
    Brett Kern
    Byron Stingily
    Ryan Succoup
    Beau Brinkley
    Quentin Groves
    Chris Spencer

    Free Agency:
    Devin McCourty, FS - 5y/40m
    Bryan Bulaga, RT - 5y/32m
    Dan Williams, NT - 4y/30m
    Mark Ingram, RB - 3y/12m
    Brandon Spikes, ILB - 3y/10m
    Troy Polamalu, SS - 2y/4m
    James Harrison, OLB - 1y/970k
    LaMarr Woodley, OLB - 2y/2m
    Ike Taylor, CB - 1y/970k
    James Casey, TE - 2y/4m

I know you think that it's impossible to sign all these guys. But we have $70+m in cap space. We're really only "breaking the bank" on 3 guys (McCourty, Bulaga, Dan Williams). McCourty may leave the Pats, due to Revis being resigned and Tavon Wilson replacing him, with his brother on this team and a major need at FS, McCourty has a perfect landing spot here. Packers have many free agents and not alot of money to spend, Bulaga may slip away from the Pack with a nice contract offered by the Titans. Dan Williams has ties with Horton and the state of TN, could return home. Ingram replaced Greene, at not much more of a cost, could turn into that superstar he was at Bama after an impressive year. Spikes replaced Woodyard (at nearly the same cost) and is a dominant 2-down physical ILB. We then pickup 4 ex-Steelers (who come in cheap) and provide good vet leadership, depth, and can mentor our young players. Casey replaces Stevens.

    Draft:
    1st: Leonard Williams, DE, USC
    2nd: Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Mizzou
    3rd: Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke
    4th: Cedric Reed, OLB, Texas
    5th: Geneo Grissom, OLB, Oklahoma
    6th: Jalston Fowler, FB, Alabama
    6th: Jordan Taylor, WR, Rice

    Depth Chart:
    QB: Mettenberger | Whitehurst
RB: Ingram | Sankey | McCluster
    FB: Fowler
WR: DGB | Hunter | Wright | Ford | Taylor
TE: Walker | Casey | Thompson
OT: Lewan | Bulaga | Stingily
OG: Warmack | Tomlinson | Spencer
    OC: Schwenke
DE: Casey | Williams | Pito | Martin | Jones
    NT: Williams | Woods
OLB: Woodley | Harrison | Reed | Grissom | Groves
ILB: Spikes | Williamson | Brown | Gooden
    CB: McCourty | Taylor | Wreh-Wilson | Sensabaugh | Wooten
    FS: McCourty | Huff
    SS: Polamalu | Stafford

We rebuild our D by adding some veteran starters, mostly ex-Steelers. However, we add 3 young(er) FAs in McCourty, Spikes, and Dan Williams who will provide an impat for multiple years. Our front 3 of Casey & Leonard/Dan Williams may be the best in the league. Pair up with two vet OLBs, who hopefully get rejuvenated to reunite with Dick LeBeau all together. We also add two day 3 OLBs to learn behind vets and to study LeBeaus scheme, who hopefuly end up major contributors by years end. Our offense has two big WRs in DGB + Hunter, with Walker/Wright working the middle. OL is vastly improved by adding two new starters. With the additions on the OL plus a run blocking FB, we can get Ingram/Sankey going. Alot is riding on Mettenberger to become a productive starter. Ultimately, we'd likely look for CB, SS, and OLB early in next years draft (potentially QB).

I think this team makes playoffs, if Mett improves.

There's def a chance, if we sign Suh - i'd say Leonard Williams is out of the picture. I just think the Titans would rather draft Williams (who most think can have a Suh-type impact) who will be much cheaper on a rookie deal for the next 4-5 years. Then we can spend this money else where on players like McCourty, Dan Williams, Bulaga, JPP, Murray, Iupati, Torrey Smith, Worilds, Maclin, Orakpo, etc. We could sign 2-4 of these guys for the same price as Suh.

I don't like Coates due to the fact that he can't catch. Pretty important for a WR. If no WRs are available at #33 (that we love) there should be some talent at CB and OLB.

I'm having a brain fart, who's PR? I'm a huge Fowler guy, I just don't see at #2 - in fact, i'm finding it more and more less likely we trade out of #2.

I think PR stands for pass rusher.

I agree about Suh...might as well take Williams and use money on several impact vets.

Personally I hope to trade out of #2 or go QB. Not a huge fan of taking a 3-4DE at #2.

They may feel the pressure to grab Mariota if nobody trades the world for him. Lets not forget that Whiz and Webster are on the hot seat.

I like the opposite situation, I prefer to sign Suh and get more flexibility in the draft. If you have Suh you don't have to take Williams, and you might feel like you have to at #2 because he's the best player. Plus, Suh has proven he can play in the NFL. Williams, though everyone thinks he's a slam dunk, is still unproven.

IF we got Suh we could go either Dante Fowler or Kevin White at 2 (if we don't trade back)
