A few issues with this. First, I see almost zero chance Tomlinson is available in rnd 3. In addition, where is our pass rush? It looks like Harrison and Woodley are what you're suggesting and replacing BWW with Taylor? And Polamalu starting? 2 of your top 3 free agents only stop the run too. We will never get off the field if we can't rush the passer and can't cover...what we had last year!!!

I don't see the love for Fowler or Gregory as top 5 or top 10. Gregory is smooth in drills at the combine but rarely is a dominant player on the field. Occasionally I see him blow by a tackle and occasionally he uses his hands well to disengage and everyone once in a great while he cuts inside and gets pressure....but a lot of times he's JAG. That isn't what I look for in a top 5 pick. Frankly, he looks more like Dion Jordan than Cameron Wake.

And Fowler is big and athletic, but another guy who isn't as good one v one. Fowler is best when blitzing in a scheme that moves him around, not just lining up outside and rushing the passer. Fowler might be the most versatile OLB, but we need a dominant pass rusher and he's another projection you HOPE becomes that. I was also disturbed by his lack of vertical and broad jump.

I think they are 1st rnd picks because they both can start from day 1 and have the athletic potential to become dominant players, but they are far from sure fire things. Which to me means I don't want them at 2!

I get what your saying but you didn't suggest any alternative. If your argument is not to choose Gregory or Fowler because they aren't dominant pass rushers, what dominant pass rusher can we get?

I saw some more tape on Vic Beasley recently and people talking about him and he's really moved up in my mind. Not the biggest guy and definitely not at #2 but I like his speed and his motor.

Do you think Ray can play OLB in a 3-4? A friend of mine from Missouri thinks he can rush from there but doesn't think there's any way he will be able to cover.

Beasely and Ray are the best pass rushers in the draft. They are not finished products but can apply pressure from day 1. I won't put Ray in the top 5 til I see his athletic numbers from his Pro Day, but Beasely has the tape, the production and the athleticism (and size) to be a Von Miller type of pass rusher. I think Ray right now is also in that attack mode 3-4 edge rusher. Both are attack/disruptive players who shoot into the opponents backfield and wreak havoc. If that's what you want, that's what you take.

Personally I think we need a dominant pass rusher like this. If I was taking a pass rusher at #2, I'd take Beasely right now. The problem is, Williams is probably a better prospect but as you can see in free agency, no one is letting a dominant OLB pass rusher go but Suh IS available as a dominant DE. Positional value will push Fowler and Gregory up too. Fowler COULD become the best OLB in the draft...but that's far from a guarantee. And with this coaching staff, which player has improved a ton since being drafted by us?

Fowler is most compared to Justin Houston who was a 3rd rnd pick. Others compare him to Kahlil Mack. Mack had like 5 sacks as a rookie. Houston did too though he blossomed (also due to the players around him) after that. Von Miller has produced double digit sacks in every season in which he's played 15 or more games and averaged about 14 sacks over those 3 seasons. Give me a dominant attacking OLB for the right side and I can find a more complete/versatile OLB for the left side. That way, we have our pass rush on 3rd down we have been sorely lacking!

Is Beasely at #2 my first choice? No. But if we can sign Suh, can't trade down and don't take a QB, he'll be about the best option.

Love that idea. That could change our defense overnight.

I'd prefer Beasley to Ray, but if we signed Suh i'd have no problem trading back and picking up either. The extra picks would be lovely. I'm worried about both Beasley/Ray vs the run and how they literally only have speed rushes. Both will need to work on additional pass rushing moves, because they relied too heavily on beating college OTs with athleticism.

With that being said, I think both could become elite with LeBeau teaching them.

Sign Suh, Dan Williams, Harrison (vet min) and trade back to take Beasley. Also, pickup a 4th round OLB for depth/Harrison replacement next year. Alot of potential OLBs could be available at our 4th (Geneo Grissom, Lynden Trail, ZaDarius Smith, Preston Smith, Trey Flowers, Markus Golden).

    ---- Suh --------- D.Will ---------- Casey ---
    Beasley - Williamson - Woodyard - Harrison/4th

Plus, in result of trading back, we'll likely have an additional semi-early 2nd. Pickup OL, WR, and CB with the two 2nds and our 3rd.

Beasely does not only have speed rushes. He's got every move Fowler has plus some. He can blow by them on the outside, charge up then cut underneath, he's shown he can win with his hands when he doesn't win with speed, and he has a pretty sick spin move. He's also good at penetrating gaps on run plays to cause havoc in the backfield.

Neither Ray or Beasely is really asked to just standup a blocker and shed. They attack the gap and penetrate so if that's what you want, that's what they do. There is a reason you put these guys on the right or weakside so they can attack the run or pass. They are designed to give the offense negative plays!

Brandon Marshall WR 6’4 230lbs 3y/30m (Give up 4th round pick)

    Mark Ingram RB 5’9 215lbs - 4y/16m

    Haloti Ngata NT 6’4 340lbs - 2y/14m

    Orlando Franklin RT 6’7 330lbs - 4y/24m

    Brandon Graham OLB 6’2 265lbs -5y/38m

    James Harrison OLB 6’0 275lbs -1y/2m

Harrison/Marshall/Ngata : offer veteran leadership for the next couple of years.

Ingram/Franklin/Graham : instant quality now and the next few years.

    From Draft Game

    Your Picks:

    Round 1 Pick 2: Leonard Williams, DT/DE – 6’5 305lbs Southern California

    Round 2 Pick 1: Eli Harold, OLB – 6’3 247lbs Virginia

    Round 3 Pick 2: Ronald Darby, CB – 5’11 193lbs Florida State

    Round 5 Pick 2: Josue Matias, OG – 6’5 309lbs Florida State

    Round 6 Pick 1: Gerald Christian, TE - 6’3 240lbs Louisville

    Round 6 Pick 32: Titus Davis, WR – 6’1 196lbs Central Michigan

Casey/Ngata/Williams is a very imposing line.

    Harold/Graham/Harrison/Massaquoi will provide outside rush.

    Woodyard/Williamson and Brown man inside.

Darby will probably start at CB opposite McCourty.

Huff or Staford at SS, Griffin at FS

On offense Mett gets #1 receiver in Marshall. Davis and Christian other options added late in draft. New starting RT in Franklin and depth at Guard. New starting RB in Ingram.

This offseason is very possible given our finances and draft picks. This makes us a lot better day 1.

    2. Browns - Winston QB
    3. Jags - Williams DT
    4. Oakland - White WR
    5. Redskins - Beasley OLB
    6. Jets - Ray OLB
    7. Bears - Shelton DT
    8. Falcons - Fowler DE

Titans trade #12, 3rd and 6th to the Giants for #9

    1. (9) Amari Cooper WR Alabama
    1.(19) Randy Gregory OLB Nebraska
    2. TJ Clemmings OT Pitt
    3. Jay Ajayi RB Boise State
    4. Ellis McCarthy NT UCLA
    5. Ramik Wilson ILB Georgia
    6. Jon Feliciano OG Miami

Nearly there fellas, Cooper didnt sounded wierd in his interview with mike today. Determined but a little wierd. Either way I think White will get drafted ahead of him at Oakland at 4. Giants are perfect trade partner, they will not take Cooper. I would take extra picks. 3rd and 6th is fair on chart.
Love Gregory at 19, and TJ at 33
