Fair enough. I've made my point on Suh pretty thoroughly. People around here are desperate for hope and I guess Suh is providing that for some of you. I won't stand in the way any longer.

You are not some brilliant thinker for thinking drafting and development is important. I don't think anyone thinks the Titans should strictly use Free Agency as a means for building a team. Pair some good signings with a few good drafts and you have something. Obviously retaining guys important, but you have to have players to resign. The Titans haven't been drafting well lately. Nothing wrong with spending some money in Free Agency. We are in pretty good financial situation right now after striking out with some FAs, aren't we?

As for Suh, there is little risk in bringing him on board imo. You keep talking about how he would be playing out of position. That doesn't matter, 5tech for him would be a breeze. He isn't some run-stuffing Dtackle, he is an explosive, penetrating DT. Don't see how him opposite of Casey is anything but a great idea. Obviously there are other factors such as the potential to bring in Leonard Williams, but getting Suh would allow a lot of flexibility with our draft. Lot of factors...

What did he do to make you believe he cannot be a quality starter in the NFL? He was a rookie 3rd string QB entering the season. He did not nearly get as many reps in pre-season compared to other rookie QBs. He played better than all other rookie QBs except maybe Bridgewater, yet he had the least talent around him.

This idea a few of you have presented that there's little risk in giving a guy a $100M contract (probably $60M guaranteed) and then asking him to switch positions is absolutely absurd.

There is plenty of risk. We all (me included) think Suh is probably good enough to play 3-4 DE, but will he be the same difference-maker out there? That's a HUGE question mark.

Also, will he be happy playing out there? If he hates it, you have a major problem on his hands. Suh hasn't exactly proven to be the most emotionally stable guy.

It's fun to daydream about Suh in Tennessee, but people should be a little more realistic about it. There would be major risks in signing him.

I'm sure the Titans know that, which is why I really doubt they will even make him an offer.

But by all means daydream about it.

Your best argument is that he turns out like Haynesworth. Like with anything, signing a player to a big deal is a risk. But he is currently the best defensive linemen in the league.

To me, it's very unlikely he is paired with Casey as 3-4 DEs and sucks.

I also don't imagine the Titans will make the offer. If I were the Titans, I would be trying to lure Suh and McCourty and using the idea of going after both as a selling point to each of them. I'm sure Suh would see the potential of playing with Casey.

We can make Suh an offer but what seriously is going to entice him to join a 2-14 team of (mostly) bums apart from stupidity money ? Even if we pull McCourty and Williams on board , I cannot accept that the Titans are in the first nine bidders on his radar. Toronto is getting rocks but I see his point. This is no more than a fantasy ball thread. He'll be going to the Raiders who will pay dumb money...

If fans go into free agency thinking Suh/McCourty or bust, they are probably gonna be disappointed.

I prefer to get excited about what a lower level of FAs could do to improve this team.

Say the Titans sign Jason Worilds, Kareem Jackson and Mark Ingram. Would that be disappointing for people?

I would be okay with that FA, not delighted but okay.

Again, who said Suh or bust??

I think we should go for him as do most other posters, but nobody suggested that.
