I'm being dead serious when I say this, but the amount of calories you need to consume at your size to gain 25 lbs is insane. And I don't mean eating a whole pizza on a Sunday afternoon watching football. That won't make you fat. Eating the whole pizza on Sunday, Five Guys burger/fries on Monday, Lasagna on Tuesday so on and so forth is what makes you fat. The consistent overeating.

Count your calories for one day of what you eat normally. Just pick a day next week. Include all snacks, meals, and drinks that aren't water. You will be shocked.

You need a goal weight, at least.

Goal weight is like 250...and ya I drank mad soda lol...and ate a lot.

Since I been dropping weight everything I consume I ask myself a question...

What would a fat guy do and what would a skinny guy do?

You can start by just not drinking soda and set yourself a fitness goal for the day (say walk fast pace for half a mile), doesn't really matter what it is. Starting somewhere requires you to set a goal, and start somewhere simple and with a goal that is attainable. It will compound and snowball once the initial effort is put in.

As a skinny guy, Idk what to tell ya other than stop eating!!! Easier said than done. I know. But there are plenty of things you can eat throughout the day and not top 2k calories, and stay healthy while doing so.

I have the opposite problem... I'd like to put on 25 more pounds... but it took me an entire year of working out 2 hours a day 4-5 days a week, drinking a ton of protein shakes and eating 4-5k calories a day to gain a whopping 10 lbs. 10 ****ing pounds!

One weekend just to experiment and prove a point, I ate 6 full pizzas, 3 burgers, drank a ton of beer, and I hadn't gained a pound. Sure, the food didn't have a great nutritional value, but 99.9% of people on this planet would've gained weight from that.

I think my issue is due to a combination of a fast metabolism and malabsorption... because there's no way it's humanly possible to eat as much as me and not gain weight. My system is all out of whack, I guess.

I have the opposite problem from most Americans, which I suppose is good, I guess. The thing that sucks is I actually try to eat healthy, but it's insanely difficult to get 4-5k calories a day if you're being a health nut.

I don't drink soft drinks, and I don't have much sugar in general. Cut them out and you'll love yourself for doing it.

I wish there was one of these threads dedicated to putting on weight!

On the bright side, I am 9% body fat... which is actually worse than what I expected.

Try this site Loseit.com it makes it easy to count your calories. Gives you a break down of nutrients. I am sure there are many others like it.

MyFitnessPal is another good one. You can track calories, protein, carbs, etc. And it has a calculator where you put in your stats and how much you want to lose/gain and it gives you a daily target. Has a very easy to use app for your phone/tablet as well.

Honestly dude, you just gotta count your calories and be consistent. The weight will fly off. Guaranteed. You don't even have to exercise (although it would definitely help). And you can even still eat some of the things you love, so long as you are staying in your set calorie range for the day.

But what you can't do is have one foot in the healthy lifestyle and one foot in your old, unhealthy lifestyle. If you do, you will just spin your wheels and get nowhere, or make minimal progress at best. It's like they say, if getting fit was easy then everyone would do it. You either want it or you don't.

Yep, unless you have a glandular problem, (some people do) it really is a math issue. Burn more than you eat and you will lose weight. Chapter one of my new diet book-Get off your A$$ and do something...anything.
