Probably a better choice long term. Current team has major cap problems and he is someone who would actually like, one would think, playing in Tennessee. Rather than a guy who would just be here to cash a paycheck. I believe he is from Memphis.

I'd prefer Dan Williams too, but I can't complain if we get Wilfork.

I too would like Wilfork if he actually wants to be here. I just want to avoid three things:
    • Old guys who only want to come here for one last NFL paycheck
    • Guys who only come here because the Titans pay the most -- how motivated will they be
    • Loading up too much on old players like the Raiders did last year. We cannot fill every need this offseason so a few old guys can help bridge the gap. Just need to be careful not to end up with too many geriatrics

I do not mind hoping you are right. Perhaps we can get you out there working to secure some quality FA's.

Wilfork fits in line with the kind of guys we've been signing. Been to a Super Bowl and fills a need.

Would rather go after Dan Williams, but Wilfork would be a good fit for a year or two if that doesn't work out.

All due respect, I have no problem with your opinion. I have to take issue with your first sentence. Honestly I'd pass is a term "Contenders" can use. I don't think that we are in position to "pass" on any immediate upgrade, that would consider coming to us without breaking the bank. Are there better opinions, no doubt, but to "pass" on him without getting a top tier DT is not going to help us next year.

I was under the impression that the Titans were happy with Sammie Hill. Thought I saw some interviews with the coach and GM saying how much he's improved and how they are happy with his play. Not saying I feel the same, but that's just the impression I was under.

PS. Anyone who wouldn't want Wilfork is dumb. How could you not want a monster like that who has been one of the best NT's in the NFL for the past 10 years or so? I don't understand some Titans fans. What do we have to lose? We won 2 games last year..

My comment was strictly speaking for the long term benefit of this team. Well my opinion of long term benefit anyway. My point is we aren't winning the Super Bowl in 2015 anyway so I'd rather go younger at that position.

Also I higly doubt Vince Wilfork is going to choose to end his career here without us "breaking the bank" for him.

Like I said I won't be upset if we sign him. I just think we'll be better served in the long run by building a foundation of youth and giving them plenty of time to gel.

We should just go back to a 4-3 . lol. draft Williams, have him and Casey at DT sign Hardy and put Morgan back at end. We have so many problems at LB right now. Anyway this is senseless. By the way I'd be cool with Wilfork at nose in the 3-4 but prefer Williams.
