Brandon Marshall anyone???

Personally I think our scouting department needs revamped...too many reaches and too many duds at the top rounds where the team should be built from.

Seems other teams can find WR's like Beckham, Wayne, JJones etc. I know other teams have had problems as well but seems we whiff on alot more....Dyson, Calico, Britt, Hunter (jury still out)

 

It has gotten to the point that i expect our first round pick to be a bust or mediocre, maybe good. Who was the last player we got in the first that was a stud?? CJ?? that lasted long.

Jury is still out for Warmack, Wright, Hunter, Bishop, Lewan, but still. As of right now Im not all that sold.

 

Everyone knows I'm no blind defender of this franchise. But.... this guy was just traded for the 3rd time in his career and only fetched a 5th rounder.

I'm not saying he couldn't help this team or that he isn't worth a 5th. But clearly we weren't the only team who didn't place a ton of value on the guy.

 

If we had signed him, he would of eventually ripped our weak ass roster and coaches apart. Everyone calling Hunter a head case, this guy is that literally.

 

It's not necessarily not getting Marshall (I know he comes with his baggage). I think it just seems like everyone is doing something risky or not and we seem to be always late to the prom kind of thing. I guess we as fans don't know if we offered or tried, all we see is other teams landing these trades and FA's. For example McCoy being available I'd hope we would inquire.

 

I think a lot of problems occured during the Munchak era with drafting. We had no idenity and no specific schemes. Webster was told to draft whoever and they would make it work. With Whiz he knows the type of players he needs. I thought this past draft class was a big step forward for Webster.

 

Yeah I understand that frustration. I have zero faith in Webster so I keep my expectations pretty low to begin with.

However there's still a lot of offseason left and Tommy Boy has said we are going to be "very active" in FA so let's see if they follow through on that promise.

 

I doubt we were at all in the mix for McCoy, he's best suited on a run first team, and despite Tommy wanting us to be that team, Whiz wont change and be that.

 

Active as in signing guys like sammie lee hill and Dexter mccluster...

it seems like every offseason we go for those types of players. guys that didnt even start on their former teams.

who was the last big name FA we signed?? Levitre??

Nate Washington was our best FA signing since idk when and I love what Nate has done, how he embraced being a Titan, but lets be honest, Nate Washington has been our best long term FA pickup... we picked up some vets that came in and had a good 2 year run.

being active really means nothing to me when we are constantly gettting guys like Harry Douglas and Jacoby Jones... lol

 

Free agency hasn't even started and the bitching has begun. The groundhog must have not seen his shadow this year...
