Did y'all hear the NFL investigating all these deals announced...apparently the agreement was they could talk to agents but not get into money and details lol

Sounds like the NFL is pretty pissed that a lot of players have already agreed to contracts with players not on their team. Especially with the details of the contract already leaking. That'll be the biggest problem. Now, maybe the Titans have already agreed with some players but have told them not to tell. Mostly, we are finding out players have signed via big market teams with a lot of "Sources" or the player themselves telling friends.

I wouldn't be surprised if the league starts taking away 5-7th rd picks from teams. They made it very clear before Sat that they did not want this happening.

Also, fan of PK here. He tells it like it is and is more right than most everyone in this city not names Jim Wyatt. Its not always what we want to hear, but its true.

At this time, the league office is beginning investigations into a number of reported agreements with clubs. Violations will be dealt with accordingly. NFL free agents are permitted to officially sign with other teams Tuesday at 4:01 p.m. ET but a three-day negotiating period began Saturday where teams could start exchanging written summaries of their pitches to agents for players on other teams. Teams can negotiate based on an agent's response but are not permitted to describe their pitches as offers.

Waaaay too early for that. It's possible (unlikely, maybe, but possible) that Webster is handling free agency the right way this year. Wait in the weeds and pick off bargain players other teams overlook. Find value after other teams blow their wad.

I mean, I doubt he's doing that. He's Webster, so he's probably just napping right now. But maybe he finally woke up and realized making a big splash in free agency isn't how you build a sustainable winner.

Heard that! I wanted Schwenke to be our guy but even when healthy he hasn't been the beast he was talked up to be. Not as weak as Levitre or boneheaded as Warmack but just not that impressive.

That's kinda what he did last year with McCluster, Phillips, etc... They should have been bargain players, but he overpaid them.

When u wait this long in free agency you have to overpay players to get them to come.

Fair point. Bargains are only bargains if 1) you don't overpay; 2) they are actually worth signing in the first place.

Not true at all. The Seahawks wait it out and sign players for below-market deals regularly. Once the demand for a player dries up, his price drops.

Yeah but Seattle has an advantage over us. They're a much more attractive market than us. We have zero leverage other than no state income taxes. However Tennessee's sales tax is kinda high.
